bro, 350g biohome cost about $17, the "red" version better as it contain trace element. a small bottle of purigen cost $17 rowa cost about $37 depend of the gram enquire. Wah... you leave the airon on at night, what about daytime... don't tell me you on the aircon as well ??? and i think the hottest period of Singapore is coming, with the lit close and light on... definitely is going to hit above 30 degree. Alternatively i suggest you to get the resun CL85 chiller which design for cube like their. Two months still too early to judge your thank. The small the tank, more difficult to control interms of water perimeter, algae etc. Biohome can be use to replace ceramic ring Purigen to replace carbon Rowa to reduce PO4 highly recommended and no regret using it as early as possible, otherwise once hairy algae start to grow on your rock, corals.. sure to regret. I one of the example, unless you use DI water instead of normal tap water.

right, the skimmer wasn't sold in Singapore, however.. you can order from US and shipment in weeks. Alternatively, others does is to remove the hood or cut the back of the hood and hang the skimmer at the back. I have a 24g jbj for coming 5 months with hammer, jewel, zoo, button, octo, starburst poly, clam, elephant ear, frog spawn, plate and 5 fishes, all in good health. Perhap you can divide the scale in two. Water change is very important weekly since no skimmer and also act an an nutrient to the corals. Remove bioball, ceramic ring etc. Get better media such as "Red Biohome", "Purigen" and "Rowa".

don't think any aggressiveness btw the dottyback and the BT, at least i don't see the police catch thief situation. My BT just stay near to the top directly with my digi- thermometer.... don't know why..... guess.. if the situation goes on, is not going to last long for my BT, unless .....something good happen.
-
Stress, that what i thought of. ... no doubt is a nano cube, it would have no problem hiding.. together with my dottyback and algae blenny, and i don't see these fishes as a treat to the BT as all... don't really know what the cause... maybe sometimes i hope can talk to them clearly what they want .. hahahha

hard to get this baby to eat. Got it on Sat. I started feeding it on Monday with brimp shrimp, it manage to eat, but not that much. Last night, started to feed again with brimp shrimp, this time, it never eat. I got some lettuce, put it in hot water to soften it, put it in.. but wasn't attracted to the lettuce at all. He look kind of restless, not too active, wondering what wrong with it.. Anybody can advise ?

This is a 360 degree circulation hydro flow. i bought one too in HK, it really circulate the tank well. As long as your powerhead is powerful enough, it will drive the circulation.
-
of course not to subsititue with MH, PL and T5, i got my PL 72watt which i on about 6-7 hrs daily.
-
Wondering whether if you placed your tank in a bright side of the living hall help at providing light to the clam. My nano is facing my full height windows which is bright during the daytime.
-
Hi bro, Thanks for all the advise. Since now my nano are almost well stocked now, my forcus now is make sure stock are well taken care. Will change different type of food and supplement for the fishes. Getting mysis, abit of lettuce or spinach for my blue tang and see how it goes, may get seaweed later too.
-
By the way, what is red bamboo algae ? where can i get it and how much is it ? can advise ?
-
currently i am feeding brimp shrimp, just got this baby from AM on Saturday. Will feeding brimp shrimp be ok in long run ? Thought of getting stuff like Seaweed salad.
-
Is it a good idea to feed your tang with market lettuce and spinach ? Could anybody advise.
-
Hi jef, is advise to change the ceramic rings and carbon every 3 months, but suggest you to change all these media for long term maintenance as it could act as nitrate factory. You can subsitite with "purigen", "biohome" and "Rowa". By the way, how long you have been keeping your clam ?

kind of difficult seeing the picture of your tank. If you are using a digital camera, set it to 640 X 480 pixels everytime you take photo of your tank, and you don't have to resize at all. Wah... using your home aircon, electricity bills might be quite high huh Anyway, nice to see you back with your tank desprite carrot cake chopping by Tampine Mall shop. I have been running 24g nano for almost about half a year, everything since fine and i enjoying this hobby. Also thank to those fellow 24g nano cube reefer that give me many advises, especially elimmel - Melvin, lot of tips i gotten from him.

can't see the picture.

thanks melvin, awaiting for your reply.

Trace Elements.. to dose or not to dose
Marinesavy replied to ICE's topic in FOWLR (Fish-only with Live-rock)
base on my understanding, trace elements is for corals, not for fishes... if you have a flowr tank, you don't have to dose it.
