Altantis, nice purple u have there... Any particular reason why coralline grows faster on plastics? Calcium react faster with plastics?

I guess i just have to leave the calcium alone till it drops to acceptable level.. my bubbles is doing just fine, i think... Anyway, i just noticed a little coralline growth on my seio.....

I am using a refractometer sg is app 1.025. Also i think water change is not appropiate at this moment... cos changing fresh salt water is actually replenishing the elements... I believe it's due to the Corallife salt we are using (as reply by a few of our reefers)? So if i lower the sg to 1.020, calcium will be dilluted then?

I tested my tank water with Salifert CA and Sera test kit. Both registered about 600. Is it too high? I only dose trace elements. Does that mean my Mg is very low. In that case, how do i balance both the elements? I am using corallife salt. I have one palm size bubble coral in the tank. Thanks all.

Any concern if i use a out-sump return pump such as MD55 or Ehiem 1264? Is it noisier as compare to a in sump pump? Thanks all.

Guys i think we are for the moment...Of cos, RO/DI water is the best option... But my quarries were actually whether GAC in the bucket tapwater will be effective. That is to say if i will to test with a TDS meter between raw and GAC soaked water, will there be a difference.

I understand that i wont be able to get pure water from this method. But i am wondering if i could minimise the impurities in the topup water. And i still have carbon and rowa in my main tank.

I do regular topup from tapwater in my tank. I use seachem prime to get rid of chlorine and chromine. Leave the water in bucket for a few days before usage. Wondering if it is effective if i soak one packet of carbon in the bucket of water to get rid of impurities?

Anybody has the experience of fish or anemone getting "chopped up" in the propellor of tunze or seio wavemaker? Still possible if the wavemaker was still rotating while the fish / anemone rush into it?

Thanks.... And the dying off is normal i presumed? Leave them there or remove them? I did the test.. NH4 has lower and NO2 has risen sharply at this period and did the test today again. NO2 has drop slightly... On the right track?

Hi all, today i start to see a number of bristleworms (at least ten)...small hairy crabs onto my sandbed (remove them?).. miny mushrooms dieoff from 10kg LR... 10 days into cycling..Is this normal at this period? In the tank only got two hermit crab. Another qns, is that if i will to transferred to another bigger tank 2FT to 3FT at this period (Just got another tank from friend) . Can i just transferred them over including the salt water? Or change entired new SW? Thanks all...

At Clementi B/328. "Clementi florist.... The shop with a lot of fish accessories. They sell 3FT with IOS-$128. With bioballs and same coral chips and a return pump about $168. Got display set right infront of the shop. Transport fees bout $20 But order already must wait a few days. Hope this will help...

Anyone can tell me whats the disadvantages and advantages of using a tank with internal overflow system, apart from that it actually takes up spaces. Does it have the almost the same effect as a sump tank? So am i right to say that from poor to best filtration is... internal filter ----> external cannister -----> I.O.S----> sump tank

Just setup the tank 1 week ago... any commends or improvement to it ? Specs as follow:- -2 FT tank= 2 * 1 *1.5 -cheapo Skimmer (air driven) -Jebo external filter current habitants:- - 2 * hermit crab - 1 * cleaner scrimp - 1 * unknown scrimp (transparent with white spots on body. Anybody can tell me what "model" is it? ) - 1 * miny tobang hairy crab (dun noe hide where) Parameters of water:- Never check for all cos dun know wat to use? Any recommendments and cost? Sera test kit - NH4/NH3 - approximately 0.5mg/l to 1 mg/l NO2 - 0.1 mg N/l SG - 1.023 temp risen from 28 to 29++ after i added a few more LR yesterday. Are all these reading normal ? Some qns to ask:- - why is the water in the skimmer filled up with water so fast? Air pump too powerful? Submerge too much into the tank? It just 1 cm above the water from the collection cup. - Must i on the skimmer since there isn't any fishes in it? - There is a bag of carbon pack in the fitration column? What is the purpose of it? Must change frequently? If yes, which type should i go for ? Thanks a lot..
