Try running in the skimmer, or prehaps a stronger power head to drivew the PS. Took me abt 4-6 days before, it's skimming mocha colored skimmate. Tuning to the black O ring mark does seem to aid in the 'breaking-in' period. Now mine's abt 2-3cm above the water line mark. Seeming okie i guess for a 3footer with only live rocks, 1 file fish, 1 tomato clown and a sea horse...

Maybe you can try the Eden rotating ph. Yes, its on suckers. It can be modified though, i made a plastic hangon bracket for it and siliconed the ph to the bracket. Now you can shift it about anyway in the tank..

Will these fresh water topup cause any parameters to swing? I presume ph will be the first to be affected, how abt kh/alk, etc... I'm using 2 ehiem filters for my 2footer. Yup, high nitrate is indeed a problem. Try using only the blue and white filter floss (or normal filter floss), with your carbon, phosguard or what have you.. Need to change your floss once every 2-3 weeks and general maintainace once in awhile Good to have plenty of live rocks and a DSB or plenum.. So far its been 1.5years and every fish is going strong. By the way mine's a fish and live rock only tank...

Thanks for all the advice given , checked the output for leaks cant find any. Decided to use the sponge that came with the PS, did reduce the tiny bubbles by a fair bit... Funny thing is that after running the skimmer for abt 6days, the bubbles i previous observed in the output piping has reduced too....

Hi, Slightly off topic, hope you all can advice me.. Currently my 2012 (with a 2200L/h ph)water level is set at the black O ring mark, foaming ok->well. The problem is that the skimmer's output has lots of air bubbles too, can be seen even in the output clear piping of the skimmer. Any method to reduce or eliminate the excessive bubbles at the output? Now having lots of tiny bubbles in the tank even when using the sponge that came with it....

Dont use Kalkwasser, but using Calcium supplement with Kh and Ph buffer to promote Coraline algae growth ok??
