In the net they are trying the light contoller(chauvet SF-4005) to act as wavemaker control. can see the product at this link http://www.chauvetlighting.com/system/fixtures/sf4005.html. The light contoller i'm using (AC input) only has a protection fuse of 1 amp.

Measured the ouput (4 output) of the controller it produce a AC voltage. Depend on the setting of the controller "rate" button, the output a.c voltage fluctuate (fast/slow) from 0-230-0. Only dare to try with 2 low wattage powerhead. Not sure the value for the output current cause shorted one of the terminal while trying to measure the output current.

anybody try using the cheap discolight contoller to control our powerhead.read this article bout using the light controller to act as a wavemaker. Using my old light controller and connect it to a low wattage powerhead. Dry run for a short while the powerhead turn according to the controller settings. wil try it in my FOWLR tank this evening to see the effect

the way i do it is feeding them first with live food then by using a long satay stick then dangle the frozen mysis infront of the horses face..... wat a looooonnnng wait. ......at last horses take on frozen mysis... now let the water current bring the mysis to the horses....

agreed with SoTongBall. there is always pros and cons in any electrical set up...... aquarium eqpt may also trip ur dedicated ELCB.... the best is when there is someone in the house once a while glance at ur beautiful tank set up and see that everything is OK

run a separate ELCB solely for ur tank is the best ...two separate circuit in one home...u need to do a wiring tapping from the powergrid main or at ur main CB. but if ur home is oredi decor nicely.....hmmm. a good example is ur home aircon....they are wiring up with dedicated higher amps socket plug for me did try to run the wire separately......but too bad the main RCB in oredi wireup tightly near the cornish. need to tear down some home decor run the wire and patch up back the cornish..... i end up make use of the oredi available house socket... can consult a good electrician on how to best run ur separate circuit.

not that experienced but ...... usually our HDB flats is wired up with 3 to 5 sockets outlet sharing to a 15 or 20amp circuit breaker in radial or ring circuit formation..... u could do a simple calculation of ur total current usage using the printed wattage usaged of individual equipment . basic formula Power = voltage x current ...then u can purcahse ur extra circuit breaker to install usually any slight leakage in ground fault or residual current will cause ur home residual circuit breaker to trip instantly can check up in our local library bout home domestic electrical fitting and installation.......safety first

if that wat its take to feed the horses... i will do it..... using fine thread tie to the mysis ..and move it up and down in front of the horses face......

if they poo...saw a thread-like white stuff together with those bit 'crushed' undigestive shell......now still trying to feed them will frozen mysis shrimp...... now and then let frozen mysis shrimp float in front of them......they will direct their snout at the shrimp....ready to strike.. but back out few minutes later when they realised the shrimp is not alive....hmmmm... will keep trying to train them to take 'dead' food....in the mean time, first priority is maintaining the tank to tiptop condition so that tiny crustacean is always available for them to nibble.

my pet seahorses did suck out the flesh out of the freshwater shrimp. leaving behind only the shell.............. after each seahorses managed to get for themselves medium size fw shrimp, they just hang around.........maybe too full?..........but now observed tiny crustaceans on tank surface seem to have diminished.....not as much when tank in cycling period....those seahorses really ###### out the tiny creature.

tank deco with 2 macroalgae sp. and pieces of bogwood. yalah my set up look like freshwater aquascape... Get those seahorse from reborn..only been with me for couple of wks.......yesterday tried feeding them with medium size freshwater shrimp (can't find small size)...they snap at the shrimp like no body business... even seen them stalk those FW shrimp.. but one thing is that the FW shrimp easily kaput is marine tank..... btw any place selling live mysis shrimp?.... thanx for the suggestion..

having this problem my pet seahorse not snapping at live adult brine shrimp.......but observed that the seahorses actively snapping at tiny crustacean at tank glass. attached pix: tank setup

u rite..got this 'longkang' smell ....everytime u step on the the mud. but is not worth it.......not just macroalgae ...but to see that our local beaches(east side) been litter by broken glass.....can see this clearly at low tide...

Halophila sp. can be seen growing in our local muddy shore (muddy pool) at low tide...really low tide....

hi. i watched a documentary in animal planet seeing a pistol shrimps attack other shrimps. the clicking is their secret weapons of immobilise their prey before kena makan.

helu (newbird to this forum) got a packet of frozen cyclopeeze..bought it during aqaurama 05...still in factory sealed...........promoter did mention it...but can't recall the expired date if place in freezer....u wanna it?
