mm.. i'm not intending to put much LR actually. probably just a few to create some flow pattern but since its so shallow, LR will be minimal. as for the cabinet... if the old one doesn't go, the new one cannot come in. so... yeah i'll keep a close eye on that and if it bends, i'll tear it down and build a proper one. thanks!

mm... not really planning to do reverse lighting. lighting period will probably start around 11 to 10pm. so before that the sun rises at 8am which will be shining into the fuge already. is that okay? the chaeto won't die cause too long exposure to light right? i also though about the overflow teeth part. i wanted it flush with the inner glass and since the inner glass must be lower than the outer glass to prevent flooding, 3/4 is the max i can squeeze in. I was hoping the 6" allocated for the overflow would be enough for a 3000l/h flow. u think it'll work? otherwise will have to extend the teeth to be same height as the outer glass, i.e. 1"

yes it has a few center beams along the 5ft actually... center beams = from the cabinet surface to the floor right?

i believe the big hairy mushroom polyp was from me? hahaha anyway lemon i think the new scaping quite good mah.. sometimes when u see something new and not used to it, u'll feel like the old one is better. but u look at it a few more days, u'll definitely start to like the new scaping. =)

algae every tank will also have.. but since the internal sump will have a black backing, so it should shield out most sunlight from getting into the main tank? and sunlight can be havest to grow chaeto. also shallow tank, much easier to clean than 2ft tanks deep. haha

yah that was the tank maker's concern too.. he told me to go up and jump around and i did that and didn't feel the cabinet warping... i also had a 2ft shallow tank there before and it worked out fine.. since its a shallow tank, the weight spreaded out over 5ft should be okay right?

so i've decided to decomm my 2ft frag tank and upgrade to a 5ft shallow tank.. here's my design the room gets the morning sun everyday from 8 to 10am and i reckon that's good for the fuge, which is why i've chosen to have a internal sump running along the back of the tank instead. also having the return pump and overflow at 2 different ends should promote some form of water flow, as compared to other internal sumps systems that have the return and overflow side by side equipments i'll be using 1 x AB2000/i (upgradable to 3000, same dimensions) 2 x Aquamedic 5ft 2xT5 HO retrofit (pending collection from fellow reefer) Deltec MCE300 (pending collection) Kalk reactor + ATO Hopar fan and maybe 1 or 2 wavermakers to push the water along the tank will basically be a shallow reef tank w/ about half the space dedicated to culturing zoas. still deciding what to do with the other half.. maybe clams and some easy SPS? fish wise... will probably have a few pairls of nano fishes.. no wrasse or firegobies as i'm very sure they will jump out. did i miss out anything in the design? any feedback or comments before I give the tank maker the go ahead?

yes bro, from ultimatefrags only the purple eagle eye have extra frag to let go. the rest all still trying to grow them out

i need to be patient also. last time i itchy hand frag the dragon eye when it only has 2 polyp... nearly lost both. lucky one survived (the yellowish one...) and gave birth to 2 more babies. patience is a virtue...

and here are some new additions to the tank (although its gonna be decommed soon) Bumble Skirt Paly tonga green Laffy Taffy Paly sparkly, dunno what, green ric, tonga eagle eye top right one from GO bleached xmen and radioactive from ming, color starting to recover? sunflower from ming, hardly grown any polyps on this frag in this tank. the other frags in another tank have grown somewhat. hehe nuclear green and blue face. the blue face was brown for very long until i upgraded to 4X24W. previously was 2X24W purple eagle eyes? (red devil, your frag is ready!) guess where's this from? zenon paly and baby ric wow.. coraline algae rock. so purple! golden zoa from creetin. grows quite fast. v nice under actinic too! thx bro dirty yellow, dragon eye and tonga eagle eye. all started with 1 polyp at around the same time. ain't it obvious who's the fast grower? the last of its kind. used to have 2 big colonies of these. one melted after my reckless fragging and the other one... for no reason. hope this one will grow big and strong. grows quite slow though... and now a top down HTS (half tank shot) none of the frags are for sale now so dun pm me k... =p

some pictures of my fishies yellow belly blue tang. got him when he was a really small 1 inch baby... only tang in my tank pink margin. got it from bro ultraman. had cloudy eyes which developed into super pop eye (like going to burst) but after intensive garlic mysis regime, eye has almost recovered. fingers crossed... biggest wrasse in my tank and always swimming near the surface. very interesting algae blenny. rather plain looking but a very cool fish nonetheless. very hardworking and has quite an attitude. likes to topple my lose zoa frags but thats okay, i still love you. haha red finned fairy wrasse. recent acquisition from coral farm. red-est fish in my tank, especially under ati color pro this fish really stands out from the rest. however i suspect it might have killied some of my other wrasse... can't confirm if he is the murderer. solar wrasse (female). one of my first wrasse from CF. quite peaceful and i realize her coloration has been improving! now some pic of wrasse that are gone.. radiant wrasse. bought from bro ultraman and exchanged with thomas for his blotchy as my new tank didn't have a sand bed for him to sleep in. very active fish with nice face pattern/coloration! royal pencil wrasse. not exactly gone yet but going to be trapped and sold to bro chamty soon. this guy also needs a sandbed so he's quite jumpy at night when i do my tank maintainece. exquisite wrasse. also from bro ultraman. this guy died mysteriously... one day saw him lying sick on the floor. before i can net him out, he went into the rock works never to be seen again...
