bought in oct 2008. so 4 months or so...

collected from Jervis this week. tried it out and don't think it's sufficient for my new tank that it was meant for.. would like to either trade for a more powerful skimmer (topup from me) or sell it at a lost $235 firm. The whole unit is very new (Jervis only used it for 3 months and I used it for 3 days..) and quite quiet. Easy to setup, comes with original box. manual, remaining warranty from Reef Depot. mm.. this product is effective.. have used it a few times too and didn't harm any of my lifestock. however i would suggest syphoning out whatever you can first before dosing this product. cause after it kills the cyano, its harder to syphon all of them out since they become flaky. because cyano is a type of bacteria and this medication is an antibiotics, if you don't kill it all at 1 go then chances are the cyano (bacteria) will start developing immunity against the antibiotics. so they will grow back and next time you will need a heavier dose and so on so forth. so make sure u dose enough amount and for long enough before you change water or restart skimmer. also like many others mentioned before, try and find out the root cause first b4 resorting to medication. reduce nitrate, increase flow, etc also, do include some pictures of your skimmer going berserk after switching it back on. hehehe

have u tried super glue gel? it hardens when left in air or in contact with water... otherwise if you keep them in a cool dry place (e.g. fridge) they can last quite long without hardening. i've stuck GSP frags onto my glass tank wall using super glue gel before and it works.. and most of my zoa frags i've stuck them onto rocks / frag plugs using the same stuff. However you gotta be careful not to glue the polyps / mat itself. it would be better if you can glue the rocks that the mat is attached to. i've always been using the aquaz superglue gel sold at iwarna. tried locite once and its super powerful.. but mine expired and hardened. you can find many other brands in hardware store. good luck!

so instead of 3 glass planes on the first partition, it should be the last partition with 3 glass planes? coming back to the skimmer = micro bubbles problem... maybe i should put the skimmer at the other side of the tank instead...

yup that was exactly what i was thinking. both very nice wrasse.... but only problem is they might jump out. do you know if a 6 line need sandbed? i know a yellow wrasse needs sand bed to sleep in... and i'm undecided if I want to have a sand bed.
