Hi, Been to a LFS and saw a bottle of Formula One Pellets. I know garlic juice is good to be mixed with pellets when you feed the fish to build up its immunity when its sick or treating them when it is struck with the ever so undesirable ICH! Well i decided to mix garlic juice to all my pellets when i feed my fishes daily to enhance their immunity. When i went down to the LFS the bottle of Formula one Pellet state that its already enriched with garlic in it. Does this mean its good enough or do i still need to purchase Garlicguard to mix with the pellets... 2)Whats the difference between Formula One Pellets and Formula Two?

The whole bottle Oh dear is your tank ok and how are the fishes doing now? I just put in the soluion weekly but am depending more on the Lrs to do the work... Been to Jireh today... They have lots of clowns vailable and their true percula clown is really beautiful man! I'll be adding my 1st clownfish abt 2 weeks time, will this pose to be a problem for it acclimating itself into my new tank? Clowns are hardy too hope it will be fine, i wldn't want to introduce a damsel first as later most probably i wld want to remove it because of its aggression....

Will the LRS and the nitrifying bacteria(adding in once a week, enough?) on its own help though... Wont the die off from the LRS bring about the beginning of the ammonia process already?

Hello Reefers, My 2ft tank has been cycling for about 2 weeks now with Lrs, sand running by a top filter and skimmer. Abt once a week i add some liquid bacteria growth by Oceanfree to my tank to speed up the cycling process. Today i went down to one of the Lfs and was advised by the owner that i cant just leave my tank like this on its own. He told me i got to purchase some ammonia substance for the bacteria to grow... Dont know whether it was neccessary? Alternatively do i need to add in any fish food pellets during cycling to help the bacteria grow or can i leave my tank as it is..... I intend to add in a clown abt 2 weeks time but the LFS owner said if the tank is left just on its own the fish might not survive when introduced... Reefers, help me out here... Is he being truthful or is he just trying to sell his product?

Well I'll gv my tank abt a month to cycle first and hopefully the water parameters wld be stable by then... Will probably slowly start to include a couple mixtures of false, tomato, clarki clowns in my tank then but without the anemone as not too sure abt it and wldnt want it to die and pollute the entire tank....i'll read up more abt clowns if things initially dont turn out too well then i'll just turn my tank into a Damsel Paradise! It's not too bad u know not familiar with the actual names but there is blue damsel, a yellow bellied blue damsel, zebra damsel, green chromis, dominoes damsel. With them being extremely hardy, chances of survival are good and their different vibrant colours are quite interesting too. Just hope my tank dun turn out to be the stage of WWIII. Decided to forget Tangs they do tend to grow big and it wld be sad to give them up and besides i always find them to have Ich problems..... Reefers!

For my livestock wld start off with a green chromis, followed by 2 false clowns at intervals... tinking of a cleaner wrasse but does it really help in dealing with parasites? Will be getting a cleaner shrimp btw. Hmmmm…. Love a small yellow and blue tang but holding that tot for awhile until able to find a better suitable replacement…Any suggestions?

Damsels...hmmmmm there aint much reefers or in fact any reefers that are fond of their characteristics due to over aggression, well perhaps i'll start to reconsider other species in replacement hopefully a pair of true percular clowns for starters after water parameters have stabilised... For my filtration i'm using a simple overflow filter running with coral chips and wool and also a skimmer... Yeah agree that damsels are very aggresive fishes but they are damn hardy their survival chances are very good... For a fact i love clowns all the different types and Yellow and Blue tang. Boy are they Gorgeous! Hmmm.... what are the chances if start up with any of those fishes?

Hellow fellow reefers! Just started my 2ft FOWLR tank on 29/12/05. Finally got my Lrs and all equipment running today. Intending to keep mainly hardy fishes namely damsels and hopefully Clowns that if the damsels wont be too aggressive towards it. 1)How long more do i roughly have to wait before adding livestock 2 wks more enough? 2) What is the max amount of inhabitants recommended for my tank size? 3) The amount recommended to add livestock each time eg. 1 damsel per every 7 days or so till achived desired livestock? Valuable inputs really appreaciated!

Hmmm, a quarantine period for 2 weeks...wonder if reefers here do so. abit long but what to do better safe than sorry...

Hellow Reefers. Need some valuable inputs. i'm setting up a FOWLR 2ft tank and was wondering wht filtration would be necessary. Will definitely be using a skimmer but what about using a top filter. Have a set at home but what materials do i put as filtration media?

Hello Reefers! Need a bit of advise, am setting up my 2ft tank and want to know the proper procedure of quarantining new fishes. Dun wanna kena Ich! How long should i quarantine the new fish and what else is there to do? Should quarantine the fish in a separate container in the main tank or use another tank? If kena ich does freshwater dipping for a few minutes really help and should it be done for all new fishes? Never really had much success using medications sold by LFS previously to cure ich. Thanks!
