Be sure to check on the ph as reducing salinity will definitely cause it to flatuate. Add ph buffer to maintain (8.1 to 8.3). You can read up the pinned topic by bro. weileong for more details on performing hyposalinity. It's a very good write up. Good luck RC

Kelmen, Thanks on your information on nutrients. However I have been feeding all of my fishes (FOWLR) with Formula 1 and occasionally formula 2. I have stop feeding them with frozen food for quite some time.... Nakazoru, I have started using trace element one week ago (first dose) and is intending to use weekly as recommended. Hopefully will gain back the vabriant colours...btw it seems like my blue face has milky eyes now and I am now performing hypo in the main tank (with 1 YT and 6 f.clowns). I am thinking of moving the blue face and house it in a Q.tank(yet to set up...) as the other fishes are ok. I think the B.F must have gotten the ich from the up the lorry PDBlue tang...never have any success in this species though...always have ich....any advise to share from the old timers..... Thanks.

Hi all, I am wondering do all new purchased fishes need to be housed at a quarantine tank before putting them to the display tank. What are the parameters of the water in the qurantine tank then if that's the case since we are not sure what kind of disease or parasites that the new fishes might bring along. Does the quarantine tank needs to be medicated (and what type of medicine is needed) or needs to perform hyposalinity whenever we put in new fish and not sick fish (ich infected)...... Ps: So far I have read threads on treating ich problems fish with hyposalinity in Q.tank and display tank with success.
