It only works for maybe abt 2 mths, instead of the duration as claimed in the bottle. After the 2 mths, u can't reapply unless u wash and empty ur whole tank and apply on the surface again. The first 2 mths it really works, very little growth of diatoms on glass. Little growth does not means no growth, so u still need to clean ur glass, but not as often, Initial 2 months, only need to clean the glass maybe once every week. After the 2 months, i think the layer wear out, so like no diff. No point using if u ask me, cos it's just too exp and the effect is very short term.

looks like a brown-out encrusting superman monti. If the colour is back, it should be blue base with red polyps. However, if the "superman monti" is from LFS wild shipment, the polyps are usually more to brown than red.

Sps polyp extention looks good. Impressed with your neat and tidy tank, and of course that great DIY skills! Continue to update your tank progress!

give petmart a call to check. They carry all accessories of eheim, but i've not seen compact's impellor yet. Give them a call to check.

if u're staying in west area, try clementi 328 to check for the U-shaped tube that comes with 1 side white, 1 side blue. Bring ur existing light tubes to verify it's the correct type. Rainbow at serangoon north ave 2 have this tube with 1 blue 1 white, saw it before, but it's at the northern side. u should add about 2 more small pieces of live rock. LR in tank provides biological filtration for the tank. Things u can add to the overflow box: carbon (great absorber), and sorb4 (po4 remover, which prevents algae outbreak) For a tank without chiller and skimmer, corals that may do well are mushrooms and zoas. Both are hardy, yet very colourful. If you wish to add a skimmer, prizm skimmer will do a great job for such a tank size. I used to use prizm skimmer in my 1ft cube office tank, and tank was running great. Hope this helps

Yup, there are many different colours of birdnest. I can't really remember the scientific names, search the web and u should find it. There's also yellow birdnest. I have a few frags of them. Can trade with a small frag of this birdnest if u want to.
