  1. how's your tank now? Any updates? Just my 2-cent worth, as your tank is small, perhaps your rockscape, you would want to arrange them such that there are "caves" and overhangs. This will allow better water flow as wll as hidng places for your fishes.
  2. any updates on your small tank?
  3. any updates on your tank? would love to see some pictures. Thanks.
  4. any one got experience about fragging anemone? it appears that it is possible to frag them by cutting them into half. Anyone done it before and are willing to share your experience. Thanks.
  5. I have since seperated the two and in fact when the pink tube anemone spreads its tenacles - it is about 10cm wide and the green carpet has grown form 5cm to 8cm.
  6. Very nice tank for fishes caught in local waters. I also have one for local fishes and it is a FOWLR so great job!
  7. Ican get it from you. I can collect them on Wed evening. will PM you my contact.
  8. what's your livestock in the 2ft? Do you have sufficient live rock in your 2ft to transfer over to the 3ft?
  9. If you really want to get rid of the worm, then do a fresh water soak of about 15 min - all the things will come out.
  10. I would go for about 1.5 to 2 inches of sand, it looks more natural but will have more problems like algae etc.
  11. Just now at about 6.15pm, while switching on my laptop at home, I felt very giddy and I felt the swaying while sitting on my computer chair and when I turned and looked at the water level in my fish tank - it was moving up and down - I then know that somewhere there is an earthquake. I felt the swaying for about 1 minute before it stopped.
  12. In your first thread, you mentioned that the tank is still with freshwater. Don't you want to have it with salt? This is so that as you are still experimenting with the rockscape, your tank + filter system can be matured and cycled so that it can be ready for the fishes? Regarding livestock, most fishes I know would like "caves" to hide. Blue Tangs will find a cave to sleep at night else they will love the larger spaces to swim. Fire gobies will be nice but lack of hiding places wil make them jump a lot. Clownfishes and damsels are ok with the "open concept" So regarding fishes, I would recommend "brighter" fishes so that it will brigthen the space.
  13. I do not know if what I am doing is right. I normally switch on all lights (3PL, 1 super-white, 1 pinkish, and 1 blue). I assume that the 3 will give a "balanced" lighting effect.
  14. I honestly think that if you want to take from the beach - during high tide and if you go into the water up to your waist level to fill a jerry can, the water should be clean enough - if you filter the water before it goes into your tank. I seen somewhere on the Internet that water pump at (15m or 15ft deep) is sufficiently clean to go straight into our fish tank. The good news abotu NSW is that there are natural small organisms in the water that could be benefical to our tank. But at the same time we also do not know if these organisms are really harmless or super harmful. So I believe that in moderation is the best. I do go to the beach and then take about half a pail or so of water (in a NTUC orange juice container) to top up occassionally.
  15. If you are discovering that fishes are disappearing without a dead body - then most probably something is in your tank killing and then eating up the dead bodies of the fishes. Try to put some prawn meat into a glass jar at a 45 degress angle, then try to trap what ever is in your tank, else wake up at night with a torchlight to see if you can see everything.
  16. The Tomato clown will get more aggressive whenit matures. I think your size of tank, 3 clown is too many - you have got to reduce the bioload else the fishes will not make it. I think 1 fish is ok for your szie of tank.
  17. Hi, I have a EeePC 701SD Linux, I can login in using my wireless in office and at home. But I cannot connect to Wireless@SG. I use to be able to but cannot now. Any advise how to solve this problem? Thanks.
  18. Download it so that my kids can watch it over and over again.
  19. Chiller used for 3 years only. Use it for for salt water 1 year then fresh water 2 years. Last service 2 years ago. stop using for 1 year already. Still in good condition.
  20. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=StiSjn8UOzY...feature=related now should be working
  21. Honestly since my ank is a FOLWR, I hardly test nitrates already as I have lots and lots of live rock. Personally if you keep your feeding low, there should be no worries about nitrates going out of swing. I would suggest that you start slower then, slowly add livestock and corals slowly week by week. Cheers.
  22. Sound alright. Mix the salt water first. Then add live rocks, switch on all electrical (filters, light every day for 4 - 6 hours). Let all settle down 3-4 days. Can add your LPS. let it settle 3-4 days. can add shrimps. enjoy. This is provided you have gotten live rocks from LFS. Feeding can be very little for the shrimps.
  23. Condition is ok. I don't have a pump to operate the chiller. Pictures are as attached. Offer me a price for it.
  24. It is just a single ft cube tank, no cabinet. it is FOC provided you pick it up at Teban Gardens. Thanks.
