Ha Ha good one. Funny to see the clowns waking up the anemone

or for your case, you can create a little cave for the lobster, provided the damsels do not go in and become food for lobster. Cave DIY at here http://www.cichlid-forum.com/articles/diy_caves.php Good Luck!!!

I got these from Changi beach. Threw them into my sump. And now they are growing, sufficient to cover the base of my sump's sandbed. Question is are they dangerous? I know that so Caulerpa when they overgrow and they burst they will release toxins back in to the water. So I wonder if these are safe?? http://www.peteducation.com/article.cfm?cl...&articleid=2140 If they are safe then we can go to Changi beach and get so of these to put into our sump. I know that these grow very fast. And occassionally you would have to trim these and throw they away. Do fishes such as tang eats them?? what about algae benny? Any comments please. These are in my office pico tank.

Amazing, I did not know that feather duster also does that - because I believe that for my case - I think I have many little feather dusters popping everywhere in my live rocks. What I meant is that I see little "feather dusters" growing on my live rocks. And when you touch it, they close like normal ones except that I cannot see the tubes yet. I guess that they are too small.

Great work Ian, I seen your tank, and in my opinion, it is awesome just to see 5xT5 on just a small tank and like you says it does wonders for your SPS. great work brother, show you pics of this black cap when it comes out. I am wondering what is a black cap??

It is okay if you reduce the evaporation so just leave a little gap for ventilation. If you are running a skimmer, there should be sufficient dissolved air into the water already. therefore we do not have to provide "air" for the fishes. The ventilation is more for the lightings as these will generate a lot of heat. But if we are using the normal office lights - then there is no need for ventilation. If using the normal t5 lights, they are on a support so that's okay. Then we can just cover the tank top.

looks great so far. Personally not so sure with Zoos after an epsiode with nubibranchs attack. Guess I will stick with Yumas and Mushrooms and TubeWorms.

Can I use Water Cooler Water to top up my tank
cdckjn replied to totoro17's topic in New to the Marine Aquaria Hobby
I leave it permenantly inside so that it takes the temperature reading. As it as you take care of it it should be fine and be careful not to crack it. -
I agreed with what the others have said. Keeping to a few variety of damsels is NICE. My recommendations for a 4ft - 8 blue/green chromis, 6 yellow-tailed blue damsels (can by quite agressive if grow bigger), 2-4 either 3-stripe damsel or 3-spot domino (also quite agressive if grow bigger), I like bluefin damselfish - shiny and bright, can also have the yellow damselfish. http://www.liveaquaria.com/product/scateg.cfm?pCatId=28 go to above link for choosing damselfish. Can go to AquaMar** - they normally sell a damsel at $1 each so cheap cheap can at one go buy many many. introduce all at one go, then less problems that they will fight amongst themselves. If you just have some sand at the bottom of tank - so it looks more natural as compared to the LFS, then just have lots of damsels, with some lighting, I believe that with a 4ft tank it will be VERY impressive. Very Swee Swee. Post pics once you do it. I believe that it will look great. With these many fishes, perhaps air-stone skimmer not sufficient, then get a Weipro 2011, should be ok for that type of bioload.

Pm me the details please thanks.

Interested in the live rock and fishes only. Wanted for school project - but school is in Hougang - where you stay??? Can give good discount to the students??? Thanks.

sounds vey designerly. If you want a romantic "soft" light to light up bedroom - why not - for $140 for something personal - seems ok a price to me.

from my observation, your tank should be about 2ft custom made or DIY with partition - very similar to mine. I think becuase you put near the wall, it will get colder becuase of the cold air circulation in your office - maybe you can put nearer the window - the warm sunlight can help to warm up the tank?? algae problem may be the next worry. So end up may be better just putting the heater to maintain temperature at comfortable 28 degrees. So get a plastic acrylic sheet (3mm thickness) to cover the tank so that the cold air does not evaoprate the water - this also lowers temperature. I know taht because I used to cover my tank and the temperature is 29, and when I don't the temperature is 27 - 2 degree evaporation.

for my tank in my office, the temperature is a comfortable 28 degrees. Guess because I put it directly under the lights on my table. And that my air-con in the open office cubicle are set at 23 degrees and I am sitting near the door therefore the heat comes in. My mushrooms are opening well when the lights are turned on.

Ok, after the weekend, the clownfished started eating the fresh pellets that I bought from home. I guess the "older lot of pellets" are just no longer fresh to them. after checking today, it looks that one of my hairy mushroom is not doing well, it seems to spew out its guts and not there is a gaping hole in the centre. I shifted it up where it is nearer the light and I gets better water flow. I also discover some interesting hitchhakers in the Mushroom rocks - it like that a baby featherduster. and There is also a "something with several long arms" coming from the holes in the rock. Will continue to monitor this. There is also a sponge-like thing with long tenacles. Any advice?

How to keep live brine shrimps alive - I seen Petmart selling these in big packs and I know that my clowns will not be able to consume so much in 1 week. I had them for about 1 week already (last Wednesday).

My clowns are not eating much??? How? I try the Formula One pellets, mypsis shrimps, brine shrimps but they do really eat a lot how???
