  1. if it is spawning also no use as it will flow down into sump and be skim away by your skimmer.
  2. I like the making process, how they fill the shoe with silicon to get the mold.
  3. You are perhaps the first person that I know that "cut" the BTA into two. I was too scared the last time when I had a anemone to do it for fear of poisoning the whole tank becuase of the slime.
  4. Cool video. We can ask God as He is the great creator as to why He created the seahorse the way it is.
  5. Some of these marine planted tank are COOL! they really look like fresh water planted tank.
  6. Cool tank. Although the red blotches at the back of the tank will be a nightmare to clean. I had that as well. and have to remove it with credit card once a month.
  7. I have a freshwater tank in my office on my desk. It is only 6" width, but as mentioned, aquascaping is a challenge. Even for my freshwater not much space to put anything as even the plants will take up the space - fishe no where to swim.
  8. Ha ha new concept of sump tank. interesting - I think some people will try to DIY this concept but at $200 - can buy and have a try instead. UPZ for your sale.
  9. Perhaps the live rocks in your main tank can be scaped nicely if you stack the rocks to form "caves" with overhangs so that the fishes can hides in these areas.
  10. I would have the sump divided into three areas. 1st the return area, where the water comes in from the main tank. Some people has mechanical filter here like sponges or filters to remove most of the dirt. 2nd normally can be split into two sub-areas, A) the skimmer area where the skimmed water goes into the 3rd area. there can be a refugium or deep sand area where you can put the live rocks here. This area can be an area where you encourage growth of macroalage for nutrient removal etc. 3rd area is the pump back to main tank.
  11. Looks Cool, perhaps add a little sand for a more natural look. Can add some little livestock in anotehr 2 weeks time.
  12. UP for your sale. Sad to see you leave Punggol. Have A Great Chinese New Year.
  13. Whoa, you kept the pair of maroon clowns for so long. It is an inspiration to me. Happy Reefing!
  14. for the fishes, i think it is a sand goby. Theer are in fact many many different species of these in Singapore waters. It is very difficult to ID unless you want to go into the scientific names. The anemones is the normal glass anemone. Some of the reefers here will regard them as a pest and in fact they are quite "dangerous" as I have seen they "sting" sand goby to dead in matters of minutes. So be careful if you have fishes in your tank. To "kill" them inject lemon juice into their bodies. Suggest you remove unless you eally want to keep them or don't mind these beautiful creatures (in my opinion).
  15. cool tank, small and neat!
  16. It looks like one of the thunder crabs that you will find in our beaches. I think I will take out the whole rock. Soak the rock in plain water for 15 min - see if the crab will come out and then remove the rock quickly. Get rid of the crab.
  17. You can have a strong air pump to bubble air in the sump, this way can also get rid of the "heat" as it helps evaporation of water, but the salt remain behind so you have to top water.
  18. I would prefer to blow across main tank, as this will take away heat from the lighting. Sump tank is good if there is ventilation, else not very effective if sump is in an enclosed cabinet.
