I think the size of the tank is easily 2m - about 6ft it can be bigger than that as there are three plasma screens in the tank.

Ok, sorry for the delay, here are some pictures that I just taken the other day. If you go today and see, you will se most of the green algae been eaten by the fishes, some of the zoos becoming smaller and things are settling down.

1st question, there is no direct overflow? 2nd question, how much you are looking for? 3rd question, where you are staying?

Help Needed - Aiptasia exterminator
cdckjn posted a topic in Disease treatment/parasite/pest control
I need some help with this - I required a Seagrass Filefish or a Peppermint Shrimp as these two are known as Aiptasia exterminator. Anyone can loan them for a while or if you can lt me know where I can buy this it would be helpful. I am more keen in the peppermint shrimp as it will not increase my livesock too much - as I only have a 2 ft tank. Thanks. -
I think this is brittle star - something like a starfish - good and okay for your tank.

whoa, your price is a bit EX. the last time I went with my family (2 adult + 2 kids) did not spend that much. I guess your resort that you stay is EX. should look for a cheaper place to stay. Hardly used the room except to sleep. the beach and sea is so beautiful, clear crystal water and so many fished. my kids are always on the beach or in the water. oh yes no sandflies!

i need a protein skimmer for small tank
cdckjn replied to princesseve's topic in Sell off/Pasar Malam Shop
depending on what you are keeping, if it is only a Fish_Only_With_Live_Rock (FOWLR) then a Weipro 2011 and a pump would be good and you can hang it on the side of your fish tank. And if you do it proper with the overflow then the tank can be partition in one with a "sump" where the water from the skimmer will return back to the main tank. So this option cheap cheap and easy - a bluish note will be ok - provided you get Weipro from a fellow reefer 2nd hand. -
7ft main tank, 6ft sump. so together 13ft???

now you are giving away your tank? If got stand even better, as my baby boy will definitely go in for a swim. Upz for you. This is one offer I will surely grab if I have the space.

it is sad to see such a nice 4ft tank not able to reach its full potential. I guess that when both you and hubby decide to have this tank, you should have done the research and I hope that it is not an impulsive move. No matter what, if you started the tank in March, now it is still in the cycling stage as the overall tank is huge. The live rock that you have may not be very mature therefore it takes a long time to cycle the tank. Mature live rocks should have coralline algae (red/purples patches) growing on the rocks. The fishes (mostly damsels - clownfishes are also a species of damsel family) tends to be quite hardy. So they should be able to withstand quite "bad conditions" in the tank. I also saw that you have anemones, some other corals, soft corals like mushrooms. Try not to buy anymore as the tank conditions is not yet stable. Also DO NOT buy any more fishes - allow the tank to stablise and remain status quo for at least 2 months - feeding the fishes ensure that the fishes are settled in. And not rescape the tank anymore. Rescape will stir up the dirt and casues the unstable conditions. The main thing is let it be for at least 2 months. by the time, hopefully by reading the threads in this forum, you gain enough experience then can slowly take out the damsels, then buy bigger nicer fishes. if not you are wasting money - keeping buying fishes just to keep some fishes in your tank - just like the local fish shop. That's why sometimes you see they always have so nice fishes in their tank. Good Luck!

To reduce the air bubbles flowing to the sump, what I used was "black basket". The black basket comes when you buy the fresh water plants, they normally sell the plant in this little basket thingy. I put the basket over the overflow down pipe. This cuts the noise and allows the water to flow better. I used to put a sponge there, the problem is when you restart the suction again, the sponge tends to overflow and creates a problem. The basket way is problem free. Tested a few times to confirm this. By the way, great DIY and careful thought and planning to ensure problem free DIY.

Hi fellow reefers, I got this Pink cynarina FOC for a fellow reefer who is closing his tank. This Pink cynarina was floating around in his tank. So when I place it into my tank, I sort of wedge it in between a few small rocks, hoping that it will reattach back to the rock, but it does not and now it is still floating around. So question now, is how can I help it to reattached back to a rock so it does not float around. Also I do not which is the top or bottom when it sort of closes when it floats around. How do you tell which is the base and which is the 'mouth'? Thanks

Using powerpoint to quickly draw then copy to a photopaint then export to ajepg - I got this. Is this what you are thinking??? If so, why not, if you adjust properly the overflow will not be too great as the partitions can be controlled. But in my opinion, a large sump is better than a small one and you can have more water volume to play by. In case of emergency the larger sump can ensure that the main tank do not overflow. I like the spilt tank provided you can see the tank from all 3 sides, else it is wasted.

I have this problem initially when I 1st started 1ft tank, I did not put in any live rock, but I used sea water from Punggol beach - this lasted 1.5 months before it all totally crashed. So 1st question, you really need live rocks in your tank to established it. Your water is mixed with salt or sea water? The layer of oil, your hang on filter needs a surface skimmer to remove it. Or have it done like my tank.. http://www.sgreefclub.com/forum/index.php?...topic=45280&hl= This has been going since 14 Feb this year so now it is about 3 months already.
