  3. sorry to cut in, bro, if you decide to get biohome, i have a resun canister 75% filled with biohome. it has been with me for around 3 years... just let me know if you are interested in buying the canister with the biohome...
  4. who is bigger size? emperor or lemon peel? is it possible to catch your lemon peel? mine always eat near the surface... if the emperor is smaller then try to catch the lomon peel (must be healthy and eating well to endure the stress), put the lemon peel in a beta box and introduce the emperor into the tank... if the emperor is bigger size and it is eating, just introduce it in tank tank will be fine...
  5. OIC, we normally refer it to lemon peel angel. it is fine to keep with Emperor Angel. but it shall be in the tank first to avoid aggression.
  6. Mandrian fish is fine, but what is lemon lip???
  7. the LFS that you went are famous in selling those non-keepable LS to anyone and everyone. just beware of this. remember reading somewhere that shark prefer a round tank as their body structure make them hard to turn. try to empty you tank so that it has more room to swim... best yet, sell it off. it will thank you trying feeding it some fresh prawn or fresh fish meat from wet market, hope this help.
  8. Hi! I have the calibration liquid (bought at $5 from clementi FS). i did not use any storage liquid. the calibration liquid will be included in the set.
  9. Q7) (NO3 zero, all in one and reef buffer are new. 99% un-used. the reason that i brought that is in preparation for house moving... marine trace and stop parasites are used. left around half.) The question: where is the individual shop that sell the cheapest: a) T5 light tube? Tropic marine pro-reef salt? c) NO3 zero? the set will go at $30 for the person with the right answer cheers cheers cheers
  10. a PH meter that i bought in Taiwan, selling at $30.
  11. Q 6) (for a PH meter that i bought in Taiwan, selling at $20 with the correct answer) how much will PH increase or decrease if temp increase by >1oC? just joking, this is the real question: name three ways to increase PH to targeted level of 8~8.4?? cheers cheers cheers
  12. selling my additive. NO3 zero, all in one and reef buffer are new. 99% un-used. the reason that i brought that is in preparation for house moving... marine trace and stop parasites are used. left around half. selling as a whole at $50. (NO3 itself is already >$40) cheers cheers cheers
  13. well done bro... Q4 and Q5 closed. coral C and coral D are yours at $2.9 * 2. i am available on mostly weekend. collection at west coast. please PM me your perference collection timing. come ah come ah, still Q1, Q2, Q3 to be answered...
  14. i used to run my tank for a month before adding LS. while waiting for your tank to settle down, you can do a few things (to help kill time ) 1) visit SRC frequently (i think you are doing) 2) visit www.wetwebmedia.com for their FAQ sections and general information 3) go borrow some books on marine fish or coral from the library 4) visit different LFS for a better understanding of their price, practice, etc the hard part for 4) is that you shall not buy any coral/ fish
  15. answer to the questions shall be on the mind of any reefer... i am sure many out there have the answer to them... okie, to help raise the interest in providing the answer: 1) i will lower the $ to $2.90. 2) reefer can answer the questions and "delicate" the selected coral to any other (new/ old) reefer as a gift. cheer cheers cheers
  16. just to do my part on promoting knowledge learning... and getting rid of my coral Part 1 of the game (soft coral as price; at a price of $5): answer the question correctly and you can choose to buy any one of the coral for $5 (collection at west coast). let me explain my intention here (before being asked), i am moving house and letting go my tank. what is in my mind is to look for suitable buyer that will take care of my coral and at the same time have some knowledge shared. =========================== provide the correct answer and you can choose any one of the coral (A to E). Q1) name three fishshops that are 24/7 with their contact numbers. Q2) name three different ways to minimise bio-waste (from the food itself) when feeding frozen foods. Q3) name three ways to acclimate fish and/or coral. Q4) name three advantages of manmake salt over natural sea water (in singapore context). Q5) does reef tank needs a completely light-less (black) period daily? if yes, how shall we do it? if no, why? ========================= no PM answer please, let us share here... and please fell free to post questions here ( i will attach one of my other corals to the question)
  17. #1: surface exchange, the more the better due to the fact that my tank does not have a sump and the water flow at the surface is pretty stagnat. i have adjusted one of my "wave maker" to be directed at the surface. the quicker flow at the water surface helps to dissipate the heat of the tank as well. with the help of 2 fans, i am able to keep my tank at 26 to 28 oC throughout the day. cheers cheers cheers
  18. okie, Bro.please sms me at 97973622 for arrangement for collection.
  19. i have enough fun in the hobby. i think it is about time for me to move on. i have learnt quite a lot from the years of hobbying. i might leave the hobby but the knowledge will always stay with me...
  20. #1: this is not a canister (machanical filter) , it is a Bio filter i am always struck with the idea of adding one last fish to my tank. however due to the size constrain (4FT only), i can add only that amount of fish in my tank. so when i look around and saw tank with sump, i am thinking why cant i use a canister and fill it full with bio-home... so here i am... being able to hold all these fish: 1* lemon peel angel 1* flame angel 1* swallow tail angel 2* blue tang (PAIR?) 3* purple queen 2* false clown (PAIR) 1* madarain fish 1* dotty back 1* green chromis damself 1* yellow coral goby cheers cheers cheers
  21. to all my friends and "friends" out there, it has been a long week for me... i have decided to call it a day (if nothing goes wrong)... this thread is for all to share good practices, some are from books, some are from internet, some are from nowhere... just hope that these practices are helpful to someone out there. ======================================= In Memory Of My 4FT Tank (2004~2006) your present has brought me a lot of joys, surprises and heartaches My life will never be the same after you... =======================================
