  1. Bro, rubber band the seaweed on a rock and leave it in the water for 12 hours, this helps the fish to have plenty of time to familar itself. Also, please try fresh prawn/ fish from ntuc. So far most fish i tried would not resist it.
  2. Wah. Bro can share brand model price and where u got it? I am interested to buy.
  3. I know ah beng and AM do sell them. You might want to give those LFS near your place a call to check whether they are selling it too.
  4. Try ocean nutrition green/ red seaweed, Frozen mysis, frozen brine shrimp. Can also try flake. If really last resort, go buy fresh prawn and fish and all those 贝壳from supermaket then minced it and try feeding it... i am staying in punggol area, if you dont mind, i can pass you some seaweed and dry food mentioned above so that you can test feed it before decide to buy or not.
  5. Given that you only have two tubes of T5, 10 to 14 hours shall be ok. No light → blue light → both lights → blue light → no light shall be the way. Why not consider getting another T5 set or LED? Good for your future and existing coral too.
  6. The unusual thing about your tank is that the rocks has no algae ah. If your tank is at least a month old, your rock shall not be this bare de. I would increase the lighting first then work on increasing the water flow. If your anemone tentacles are not waving at you, most likely your waterflow is not strong enough lah.
  7. _~" tonight u go home take a measuring tape and measure your tank L*W*H to find out the total litres in your tank first... then tmr go buy one more set of T5 or LED lah...
  8. Hmm... what is your total light watt and your total water flow litres per hour? A bit difficult to troubleshoot without spec of your tank and equipment
  9. If water ok fish also ok, do you want to buy an isolation box in the main tank and put the new shrimp inside to observe for few days?
  10. What are other fishes you have? Maybe kanna biten...
  11. Bro, IMHO if you want to add in so many fishes at one go, you shall do large water change for the next couple of days and montor the situation closely. I think maybe your bio load just spiked too high and the bio filter cannot take it.
  12. AM got two nice LPS/ SPS display tanks. FC got a large FOWLR tank. iwarna got one. Marine life got one.
  13. Bro, you have to do partial water change with salt water at 1.024 - 06, do a 25% change, wait for few hours, measure salinity, another 25% water change, measure salinity... repeat same process till your tank water become 1.024...
  14. Just try turning off the wave maker for 12 hours and observe the fishes. See for yourself are they happier with or without the wave ah.
  15. There are both T5 and LED for 1.5ft de. You might want to check with ah beng.
  16. Bro, you might want to improvise your air input flow to your skimmer by using a L corner thingy right at the bend of the bottom. See picture one. Cos i find that the sharp turn at the bottom of my dymax skimmer is obstructing the flow of air to the skimmer. You might also want to adjust the bubble level right up to the edge of the skimmer neck to max bubble-water contact time. Lastly, if you only have one two fishes and not feeding any coral, there will not be much for the skimmer to skim...
  17. Can try any fresh water fish shop. They will have white sand.
  18. hmm... hmm... colorful is in the eye of beholder... or just go LFS and buy some new corals to replace the existing one...
  19. 16 July 2014 some lessons learnt since the last update (better write down than to forget ) 1) The favorite spot for anemone in the tank is at the canister water inlet (dont ask me where is the RBTA now) 2) Gravity works inside tank as well, so if you place too many corals on a horizontal LR, it will drop to the sand bed... with all the corals on it... 3) Any normal size corals will become giant size when you place them in a 1.5ft tank... anyway, it is slightly more than a month since I set up the nano, hopefully I have found all the sweet spots for all the coral and they will all open within the next two weeks. 20. name me a reef in the world that sees only 5 hours of sunlight day in day out one... anyway, try feeding your LPS at least weekly (at night or when they are in makan-ing mood)?
  21. And one more thing... i didnt mean bro if you are a sis...
  22. 3-5 watt per litre for LPS is consider on the high range for a normal height tank. This is the recommended figures from most books and websites.
  23. Bro. IMHO, I think 115w for 1.5ft LPS might be too strong and five hours is too short. Do you want to try getting a LED/ T5 to compliment and extend the current lightings hours?
  24. Zoas mushroom hammer head flame angel wont nip lah. This one from experience...
