Any other suggestions... my main aim is to remove nitrate which hovers around 10ppm (po4 undetectable now), any suggestion from bros sis who has sucess in bringing down no3? It seems like there is no AC for nitrate removal as most are absorbing organic waste (fight nitrate at the source) and not absorbing no3 itself...

no problem. Do you have a small piece of rock (2-3cm)? I can "penknife" a stalk of xenia at the base, then you can rubble band/ epoxy it to the small rock then let the cutting side heal... I think this is how they frag soft coral.

I have my fair share of problems too, from red slime algae to high PO4 to .... but I am glad that things are pretty solved now... heng ah.

While trying out different ways to eradicate/ reduce the mirco bubbles, I switched off the wakemaker and to my surprise, I saw the pulsing xenia which is always swaying with the current, well, start to pulse in clam water. Anyway since you are traveling to china every now and then, you can always send them back for repair during your trip.
