Thanks bro. Was just wondering because my first time venturing to marine and before i started there seems to have some difficulty to it as compared to freshwater keeping. Perhaps a reason to why less people shun away from marine keeping. I am asking because like all hobbyist we find satisfaction when the fish is healthy in the tanks. Some tips would be great that is why i hope to learn more from everyone here.

@solasido: yup but then some times when certain species are stress they will spawn too. @ Drahc: I have read that on the western forum but some say that yes molting is good while other says they can molt under stress too. Like my fire shrimp has molted frequently since I got them abt 5 weeks ago.

Hmm like shrimps are supposedly sensitive and if they are the first to die it usually means something is wrong with the water? Not taking cyanide poisoning into consideration.

Was just wondering how many weeks/ a rough gauge as to whether the invertebrates or fishes will survive in the tank? A week that it is fine and eating? Doesn't display erratic behaviour?

I feed small by many meals about 4-5 times per day if time permits. Twice in the morning about 1 hour apart, thrice at night about 1 hour apart.

I'm new but it's been 2 weeks since I've switched from nsw to salt mix with tap water and Baxter anti chlorine mix. Doing wc about 20% daily. Haven't spotted any open break of algae as of yet.

Yup the squarish one. My tank is a 3 tier 2ft. Bottom tier is the slump. At first I placed them in the slump but then some got sucked in the pump. Looks neater in trap and less messy too but I might get a acrylic box for it as the net doesn't allow it to tumble.

I'm using that but it's those breeder net with chaeto but I put it in my slump cause my tank is too small to place a breeder box.

Hmm, shouldt the water from the return pipe provide the gas exchange? like since the water is pulled down by gravity? As it hits the slump water it would break the water surface.

I'm using 4 T5 lighting at the moment 4x39 watts about 156 watts. Sufficient? The calcium not yet. Haven't gotten a tester but will get it soon. Read that dosing blindly is worst then not dosing at all.

A quick update so far. Got some corals and quarantine some. Quarantine tank, A tank within a tank. Lol getting day light tml. The old one was blew and didt have time to get a replacement. Torch coral New clam Got some gsp from a fellow reefer. Thanks bro Trying mushroom and leather coral out. Got from coral farm. Did fresh water dip. It's getting better but still needs time. Some purple eli shaking in the current. Some hammer corals Fts Nth much have to wait till they grow. All that's missing is a wave maker which I'll get soon. Friendly nemo but more towards exploring nemo. They haven't settled down yet. Hopefully soon. Need help with placement like where to place the corals. Abit new in that.

Saw a couple of peppermint shrimp at new trio today.

What about boon net? Is it fine too?

What about acrylic? Can get those acrylic tank divider to try out. Or get those clear ones and drill a hole at the corner to let the heat out.
