mine .. same family good luck .. mine in the tank so long already.. only see it during feeding times .. other times just hide behind the rocks ..
-
tanah merah terminal is a good place.. the lfs also get their water from there.. the big drains nearby are good enuff no need to go to the terminal itself..
-
possibility of oxygen starvation .. I can almost always make the zoo's close up and the tubeworms spew spermlike things and become like paintbrush .. happens whenever I pour in AZ NO3 .. for those that doesn't know .. AZ NO3 reduces the O2 levels in the tank for quite some time while removing NO3 from the tank ..

just bought salifert test kit.. shows between 20 and 40 mg/L whew.. different measurement units.. sera still shows 40ppm (or more) my dsb has started to kick in (reduction in ugly algae) slowly but surely..
-
wah .. your workplace sounds like my place.. no reception.. you working near DTSS??
-
just saw .. helfrichi available in coral farm .. think I'm going to detour there !!!
-
went to get a bag of the PURA nitralock .. geez .. all sold out I bought the last bottle .. only for 50gal only Anyway .. expecting the nitrate to start dropping as the RDSB starts to kick in (experience say the spike will last another week or so ) so this is actually a stopgap measure .. Hate this period when the RDSB has not kicked in and the nitrate spikes up .. lost my 1st fish also sigh .. purple tile Day 1 no effect .. tetra 100ppm sera >40ppm

dun touch the one at ML! me reserved liao! keke ah beng brought the greissy in too slightly smaller specimens than ML the helfrich.. wanna split the cost of shipping?? eh.. wiseass, recently as in last month.. aunty shop.. 4 for $2 = 1 for 50cts so if last month = policeman wear shorts then you must be still drinking mothers milk now?? really wonder why you guys are so smart sometimes yet most other time just plain thick headed and never see beyond your nose.. can we stop this nonsense and go back to reporting?? -

dunno what grade dug from somewhere in singapore I've got seachem denitrate porous 'rocks' as bottom layer.. then the mudlike layer (brown sand) finally the white layer from my sand bucket.. think its #0?? very fine sand

http://www.sgreefclub.com/forum/index.php?...pic=46867&st=0& not bad.. think generic sump is cheaper.. give Ian a call quality is good .. but service is excellent.. he's cool in my books
-
from conceptual visualisation to actualisation of concept slightly smaller sandbed area due bubble trap (didn't even know of such things) just a problem.. forgot all the hoses to and from cooler.. so sump a bit too big for my cabinet.. now volume of sand vs the bucket sand increased by about 15% waiting for it to stabilise before removing my bucket of sand.. found a great place to collect sand and snails and other stuffs when tide is out even fish and hadoni.. no one goes there to beachcomb.. just fishing! (yub great fishing spot too) secluded quiet and nice thanks to iAquatic for helping out..

quicky way as suggested by chrisyew also 1. go simlim tower 3rd floor 2. ask for led strip predone and converter package 3. pay $$ go home plug and play expect about $22-28
-
bro, he's misquoting it as a transformer.. think he's referring to a converter anyway.. don't be so pedantic and confuse him even more std led only 3.5v.. so you still need resistor inline to lower the voltage.. those sold in simlim are wired in parallels of 3 units with 1 resistor.. becuz 3 =10.5v so you still need to buffer 1.5v using a 12vdc transformer its not whether its better or not to use resistor..its just supply and demand..oversupply voltage then you lower the demand by putting in resistors
-
luxeon is brightest now.. but cheapest led is still only around a few dollars a pack of 10 resistor is the value.. wattage is the heat capacity.. so you're looking for a 1.2k ohm 1watt resistor IF you intend to run only 1 led.. if you run 7 leds in series.. then no need resistor.. just make sure the +ve leg go to the -ve leg of the next led ..
-
meaning you used too small a resistor a Std LED runs 3.5v DC .. so if you want to run 24v transformer .. then you need to hookup 7 LEDs in series so they run a total of 24.5v or you run a combinatino of LEDs and resistors to achieve your 24vDC what the wizard is telling you .. if you want to run 1 LED with a 24v transformer .. you need a 1.2k Ohm resistor running in series to bring the voltage down (ie V=IR) .. with a 1.2k resistor .. your wattage is 480mW (W=IV) .. so in order to safely dissipate 480mW of heat .. you need at least a 1W resistor (50% increase in tolerance) I suggest you get the Luxeon series LED to get the lumens you want .. Each LED is $15 .. kekekeke brightest in the market now ..
-
yea .. why not try quarantine the rocks 1st or run a super hypo dip ?? Some of the interesting stuff that I got that cannot be bought from LFS .. emerald green porcelain crabs black seafan Spaghetti worms (detritus eaters) sally ugly foot

my DIY .. simple and effective .. now gotta work on dimmer switch .. kekeke .. then later a timer .. then later a variable timed dimmer switch .. -
hi bro .. any problems with the lifestock ?? With the bin DSB .. you need about 3 weeks for it to work .. and what I found out was .. the test kits are WASTE OF TIME !!! think alot of people found that out I've used 3 different test kits .. salifert, tropic marine and tetra .. tetra says 25ppm, tropic says 20ppm and salifert says >80ppm .. only if my corals stop opening do I test the water now .. or if I see stress spots on the fish and when I test .. make sure you compare it with PREVIOUS known readings as baseline .. (ie last time my tropic shows 20ppm, and once it shot up to 50ppm .. something was up {my DSB bucket pump died} etc) BTW, how you setup the garbage bin DSB can affect the effectiveness also .. check that out too I've been having very good success with my RDSB, and I believe you will too

good for you .. my randalli is also changing.. but got a huge blue eyes thats bullying all my anthias hoping she change also

got a 24" for sale if you want .. but gotta wait until my new sump arrives .. hopefully next week
