hey.. anyone has more info on the iks dimmer? does it mean i have to get the ballast? the website also says variable power requires units that accept phase angled output.. meaning its not plug n play? does the simmod dimmer need a dimmable eballast then?? so do i need the simmod AND variable output outlets??

found the greissingeri!!! but just spent $$ on 2nd greissingeri now got 2 greissingeri wandering in the tank unless got people want to buy it off me!!! if its a market fish.. sure pengz.. $65000/kg !!

sorry .. didn't have a before shot of the eagle eye .. I'll go actinic and let you know the outcome I think most likely you'll get it first as I only verbally confirmed since I nearly got floored by the price when I asked I'll be getting the basic like you .. with SG and TEMP but no dosing pumps .. and waiting on the dimmer control.. and whatever future upgrades Editted to add Paiseh .. found a before under 1actinic and 2 white T5

this is now in blue .. will snap a pict with all 4 tubes .. but weekends only since by the time I reach home .. only the blue will be on.. FOR WOW factor Bright individual reflectors cooling fan (warm to the touch after 10-12 hours) (previous one burning hot after 20mins) separate plugs allow easy timer controls AGAINST Price vs functionality (a light is a light ) Ceiling mount (mine not mounted correct .. either I move tank or I drill more holes) Cables (you mentioned it before) but having 1 BIG grey cable into a junction box and then 3 different plugs !! you gotta be kidding me !!! (idea is there but just not efficient or complete in thinking out the packaging) Redundant polarity switch (let me ephrase .. useless polarity switch) and too big a fan plug termination of the ceiling wire very unsightly .. again not very well thought out in terms of packaging so for me it was a upgrade .. and it was worth it (think if I went MH I would have said the same too bad you sold yours !! ) but compare to equal quality lighting ?? sorry I don't have any other experience with any other good quality T5 HO lightings Lastly .. for me MNF also .. but I do count beans .. a worth it factor versus functional factor.. for the price it's too expensive for a fishtank light ..but for a NICE fishtank light its definitely good !! Hope my frank review doesn't hurt your feelings oh yea .. my 500 years ago relative .. if you're reading this .. sorry .. I'm a practical person .. hope you understand I'm NOT SAYING its not good .. its very good (must highlight !!).. but it just may not be for everyone ..

This is a before shot .. the $150 3 tube T5 HO 2x 20k white and 1x Actinic lighting .. Please don't think this is a miracle wonder thing .. here's a couple of flaws in this lighting no cooling combined reflector vs individual reflectors separate switches but only single plug (like a eunuch .. a man but cannot xxxx ) thin acryllic that has already begun to warp FOR cheap it does its job

nah .. not a fair statement .. because it is a sweeping statement that generalises .. but shall we leave it as that and agree to disagree ??? (just like I hate german made cars and generalises that these cars are the only ones that you'll see broken at the roadside on the N-S highway and on the roads to Genting ) Here's the zoo I'm talking about .. in blue Oh yah .. you can check my order under "IsawJervisNameinthelist" I was going through the catalog when I happened across those who ordered .. not intentionally mind you
-
Don't think thats a fair statement to make .. it may not last or quality may not be as good .. but a 200w ballast is a 200w ballast .. if you get my meaning Anyway .. the lights and the color is definitely good .. now I know why eagle eye zoos are soooo sought after !! (my tank that is) Should not have any worries about 2ft deep tank .. as mine is a 2ft and it shines into places where the sun doesn't want to go Definitely a $150 3 T5 HO light unit versus this $5xx 4 T5 HO light .. no comparison .. then again I have no comparison .. since I jumped directly to this unit .. Jervis, here's how my timers setup (maybe can compare notes) until the aquatronica arrives (yep .. saw your name next to the list!! ) blue light 7-9am (78w) (abit bright but simulate dawn) white light 9-8pm (78w) (morning sun) blue + white from 10 to 6pm (156w) (noon to afternoon) from 6-8pm white only (78w) (simulate late afternoon) and from 8-9:30pm blue only (evening to dusk timing) only problem ?? blue light is too bright .. maybe I change to actinic so it's abit darker .. unlike you I can't sit by the tank and take picture when I can .. I'll snap some picts and show some before and after .. but note its a cheap $150 unit versus a 3x price unit.. right now still working .. eat abit of snake to type this ..

Saw it at LCK a few months back. maxstar81, Terryz, depth really doesn't mean they can't survive shallow waters.. its how they are conditioned in the process of shallowing off that determines whether they can survive well.. barotrauma, bends etc.. just like divers going too deep its the temperature thats the problem.. the tank they were in was sooooo cold condensation was forming macham like the tank sweating

Kindly add to the list below. Thanks. Will ask my friend to pm you guys for collection. 1) shawncel - 4 pc 2) nightdust - 1 pc 3) jonathan - 2pc(pls pm me the link) 4) gunzo - 2 pc (need to c picts 1st !!) please pm me the picts of the shrimps and the link too !! need to see them to make sure they are the 'hungry for atapsia' peppermint there's a few kinds of peppermint .. and not all of them will attack atapsia .. so really it's the luck of the draw .. their rate of consumption also dependent on where they are from .. My last peppermint (2.5" size) kept my 3 footer clear of atapsia until it's demise (eaten by my tang during molting season ) .. now it's atapsia heaven .. didn't even know I've got so much atapsia

everytime I clean the pumps / sump etcetc or add cleaning solution after a while .. the crap that's in the pipes just gushes out into the tank .. looks horrible .. looks like chicken feathers and it floats forever in the tank Anyone know how to clean that thing ???
-
just noticed .. AM has the fish in stock right now .. it's the Ptereleotris Grammica
-
dunno whether it works or not .. but test wise ..(photo shows aqualight test kit .. similar to salifert) tetra test shows 100ppm (never changed) .. maybe spoilt then again .. 1 month time is up .. my RDSB should be up and working liao fish and inverts and corals .. erm .. look happy during the NO3 spike .. some of my fishes get white spots also .. now no more .. Anyway .. it's turning yellow in the sump (dunno from dirt or what ) slowly .. Guess it's a good backup as long as you have something that brings down NO3
-
hey .. thanks for the id .. the myersina is a shallow water fish ??? he's out in the main tank now .. always hang near the surface .. like ready to jump .. fusigobius .. Henry .. will it make a meal out of my greissingeri ?? (which reminds me .. supposed to get the food from you also .. forgot .. sigh )

have this weird hole in my LR .. round in shape .. and surrounding like bio stuff (bluish translucent in color) I can see this 'thing' inside red in color .. and until now I have no idea what it is .. it'll come out at night .. but only partially .. so cannot fully id (cannot take pict also) but 1 thing for sure .. it's red in color Are there any red mantis shrimps????? anyway .. I have an orchid dottyback swimming around there in case it is .. but if it is .. anyone wants to keep a red mantis?? think sooner or later .. curiosity sure kills the cat

thats what you'd like to think isn't it?? Am I right?? you DON'T KNOW for sure.. and for sure the LFS's are not going to tell you.. it could be a scare tactic.. I don't know also but when you are free.. just take a drive there.. and watch and learn (rmbr to follow when they are done) and do tell us how the water is filtered so what makes natural seawater so unnatural that it has to go thru LFS before it becomes natural?? btw I'm not poking fun at you I'm seriously asking.. coz I followed them 1 day (coz I work near there and they go the same way as me home).. guess the rest you can find out when you do the above !!

bought this from AM sometime back..
