the start of over reliance on too much data .. for some weird reasons the salinity started fluctuating up to 1150!! recalibrated and still same .. refractometer shows constant 1.024.. maybe the probe is faulty liao .. pH fluctuations +/- 0.2 (seems normal .. lowest at midnight) Temp variations from my in tank thermometer also .. sigh Wonder what else is going to happen
-
there's 2 connectors per power plug for temp or level sensor.. but if you want more you can get 2 way splits to connect 2 level and 2 temp sensors per power unit or any combination of level and temp sensor

Similar to a post sometime ago that degenerated into a slugfest .. Main question came about when I was doing stock taking .. and surprise surprise .. almost 80% of my fish from a single source And when I reflected back .. I visit all over the island for rare fish .. so I did not just buy from 1 particular LFS but everywhere .. I have a maroon that's been with me for a year now .. thru 2 crashes .. 2 tangs for 1/2 a year .. and these are the fishes that's not bought from the LFS.. 1 blenny 3 gobies 1 randalli 2 blue eyes (2 fatalities and 1 drown) 2 triggers 1 wrasse 1 angel 1 Powder blue (died before I released from betta box) alot of crusteceans and inverts .. I think I have the following fatalities from elsewhere 5 yashias 4 blue eyes 1 sunburst almost 10 firefishes almost 10 purple firefishes 3 mandarins 2 powder blue 5 dispar 5 yellownose hi fin wow .. now tally up seems like I spent alot And this was not counting my initial nano setup !! yikes !! Any one else did a stock take and find similar occurences ?? Maybe our water conditions matches up thats why the higher survivability ???? anyone has equal success from most of the LFS ??

OK .. recalibrated the Density .. this time round 48.. still lower but at least not 26 Temp recalibrated to read what my thermometer is reading I'm bored already .. run out of things to play liao
-
Tonight I'll go do my recalibration again .. - Removed my timers for the light and now completely run by the controller - Set the Chiller ON/OFF temperature via tank (difference of 2 degrees versus the thermometer and chiller ) Reset my curve so there's no drastic changes for now and slowly raise the temp .. set temp in day to 26 and night to 28 degrees - Reprogrammed the arrow keys to turn on/off pump, skimmer and blue light - Set the low level warning (at least now have aural warning) - Going to set the weekly reminders list for feeding and dosing .. now trying to decide if need to change water monthly (note have not changed water for a long time.. and everthing is still normal) - Find a place to put the LCD A very expensive electrical plug IMO Difference between a boy and a man is the cost of the toy increases as they grow older

Did the firmware update twice .. coz forgot to update the software 1st !!! well .. mine is pretty way off for the density and the PH .. and Temp .. sigh ..
-
yes .. you set to graphical mode instead of fixed data mode I set mine to 27.5 during day and 28.5 at night Either my calibration is off or something is wrong .. did the conductivity calibration at 52ms .. and my tank shows a 1048g/l !!! using refractometer .. it shows 1.023-1.024 .. sigh .. And my PH .. Hanna PH pen with a brand new probe .. shows 8.3 and this one shows me 7.8 during calibration .. 10.0 showed up as 9.45 .. sigh .. Temp versus my thermometer and chiller off by 2 degrees.. sianz

aquamarine has one as of tonite

oh crap the dimmable power modul only $100+ more
-
el cheapo t5 HO 3 tube.. similar to jebo I think.. the rest of my rhodactics, mushies, zoos and clam seems okay.. just the purple yuma.. or I'm just paranoid it looked abit pale compared to its 2 other siblings.. then again its twice their size too
-
zorden.. my info agrees with jervis.. 400% if you include the computer.. but it comes ready to be dimmed !! oh yes I'm using the 4tube version.. already an overkill for now jervis.. then my way is still a better method but project will start with dimmable ballast then later the dimmer module when its available.. btw.. the lighting too much.. my giant yuma bleached slightly already.. used to be at prime topspot with an older 3tube t5s HO ..so relocated them to the deeper area
-
this is wishful thinking bro.. the price is prohibitive enough to be not in the initial batch must have said something about its price .. guess there's a demand here thats why aquamarine is bringing it in this time round.. but don't faint when the price is announced!! I'm waiting for the price too.. if ok.. I'll change mine for the newer one
-
nope.. the dimmer version of the ati allows dimming function only.. it means either you dim it manually like the household lights or you buy a computer like iks or aquatronica.. the price is double only not triple if its computer controlled.. I would have gladly bought it because what sold me to the aquatronica or iks is the dimming function..the rest are just good to have toys think 1 of the guys here bought the dimmable ati.. just check with him or aquamarine since they sold it..

upz

not the ones available now.. unless you special order.. all ati powermoduls are non dimmable ballasts

recently .. I'm beginning to see instances of my fish with tails like 50% bitten off !!! my poor flagfin dartfish does not even have a tail now !! who can I accuse now ?!?! all my fish are non aggressive (I hope!) tangs, anthias, fairy wrasses, gobies.. blood shrimp, boxer shrimps ... just recently caught a mantis .. thinking that was the culprit .. today saw my nicest tailed flame with half the tail gone !!!!!!!!! pest crabs ???!!! another mantis still hiding ?!?!!? predatory fish ?? fighting ?!?!? the bite is like nicely snipped off .. not jagged like fighting .. sigh ..
-
Oops .. thought I had a view of the tank with 2 blue tubes .. note with 2 blues .. the blue is 'bluer' but the entire tank is just too bright .. with the actinic .. the color is more subdued but the brightness is more manageable .. Jervis .. I'm using the powermodule 4 tubes .. and I will be converting the ballast later (ssshhhh .. secret project ) .. yea .. everything better fall into place by Sept .. Yes .. I like the tunze mini .. that area happens to be my deadflow area .. so the mini snugs in nicely .. I'm going to get another to blow behind the rocks later ..

reef depot aquamarine though if you're after only electrical stuff.. I'd go sim lim tower (NOT square!!) you can get ph pen/ meters , refractometers etc.. timers lights moon leds whatever electrical stuffs there

3' 3 tube T5 HO lightset for sale used for about 2 months asking $80

thanks for the info !! Looking at the IKS .. the only drawback is it doesn't have the salinity monitor .. Now have to figure out whether the ATI powermodul has the dimmable ballast .. Otherwise it's also additional $$$ great .. now I have 2 options !!

This guy was hiding in a rock that's easily accessible and it's visible (ie a ROUND hole in the rock).. Can see it turning around and poking its head out once a while I just took out the rock .. break open the sides of the hole and tweezer it out .. it cracked my plastic container though !! watch your hands when you catch it !! Also look out for rocks with something like calcium deposit and smooth .. and perfectly formed holes (yea .. it was really round) ARGH .. still got the piak piak sound in my tank !! Hopefully its my pistols !!
