when you dump in NO3 .. it actually chokes the tank of oxygen .. so you need to aerate the tank as much as possible .. and while the AZ is working .. the skimmer is working overtime also .. probably to remove the sucrose If you read the sugar thread.. the AZ seems to work in the same way

ok .. here's the real deal .. I NEVER wanted clams .. my friend closing his tank .. so ended up giving me his clam and chiller .. didn't really checked the condition before getting it though .. but after I closely monitor the clam and looking at the picts posted here (the maximas??) .. when the clam open up .. it's sealed up to the mantle with very nice patterns in the middle .. mine is just white where the hole is .. and progressively becomes blue as it nears the lip .. very nice deep purplish blue color .. cityofangels - no known fish pecking it now (maroon, tangs, gobys, mandarin and 1 irritating damsel) .. stressed maybe from the change of environment ?? will post a pict later to show you what I meant .. thanks! .. now added burden !! $#%)#$*($)@#($ friend of mine ..

how difficult is it to rear a powder brown?? Mine just died on me my other 2 tangs rampaging all over and exploring .. sigh the other 2 is a blue and yellow .. blue being more shy and likes to hide.. BTW powder brown is like 4" while the other 2 are around 1" only

what's the market price for such ?? very interested in getting .. but was quoted $65 for it !!

friend gave me a clam.. but 1/4 mantle gone already.. a seems like it has a hole where the mantle is gone i see the clams here when they open.. completely sealed unlike mine with the hole.. is it dying slowly??

No problems .. yet .. going to monitor .. should be okay .. my zoos and gonioporas are opening up already .. just go buy those baby fans with clips .. mine reduce from 32 to 30 also .. but friend gave me a chiller .. so now even better !!

hehe i also like you now.. just transferred from small to big tank..3'x1.5x2' seems like same time we setup the tank.. my fish swimming inside liao.. though i doused bacteria powder also.. nitrate remove with denitrate or chemicals mine also 40ppm sera or 25 with tetra.. testing with sugar also hehe

interesting.. I read the report on sugar dosing posted sometime ago.. and comparing it to me using AZ No3 .. there's some similarities !! it goes cloudy if you overdose .. and the LS will start gasping for air.. hmm wondering if the $38 bottle contains sugar solution ???

thanks for the replies .. went with Teco it's a RA680 to chill a 3ft tank takes 30mins to cool tank to 27 degrees, on for 15 mins every 2 hours to cool the tank .. so 180mins a day consumption for now .. not bad :D Weileong > you the original poster of th breakdown ?? sometimes not everything can be broken down via monetary offsets which you rightly point out .. for me its support and reliability.. have not heard a teco breakdown but have heard alot of resun issues (ok alot as in 4-5 compared to teco 0) anyway whoever calculated that power consumption probably failed maths 1 hp=745 watts.. how 618watts= 1.56hp ???? and biased too probably to justify for the maths.. one calculated using amp x volts the other use max wattage consumption.. if you understand marketing.. you'll understand why its max power consumption rated and not nominal power output rated

somebody posted this in the FS column .. and I have 1 that looks like this .. friend who passed it to me said it's a ceriathus (tube anemone) .. this guy claim it's a tube worm ?????? did some research .. couldn't find tubeworm .. except feather dusters .. but found alot of cerianthus that looks strangely like that (and my cerianthus) caution for this is to keep in a species only aquarium does it mean even my lonely clown will not even play with it ????? my skunk now is avoiding the area like plague ..

tranferring from my smaller tank to a bigger one..

now I got the option for both .. a resun cl650 or a teco (think it's a 680) both 2nd hand. . which one should I go for ?? one is probably like 1/2 the price of the other .. but I don't really care about price .. just want one that'll give me peace of mind .. of course if the resun is good .. then better still since it's lower priced meaning I can spend the money on LS !!
