just checked helfrichi price overseas 159usd yowser!! yah heard sealife got.. but not getting it.. i spen $30 on 3 flame gobies heart pain liao.. all died with days of each other then bought 2 fire gobies kenna chewed up by my purple tang kiam chai.. oldesy goby died when i bought extra 'partners' n they fought ..wif me for 4 months now just keep shrimp gobies .. hehehe

I'm using another one from salifert .. and this one says 5ml per 25 gal .. it is also stated that the chemicals bonding it to the PO4 makes it skimmable for 12 hours .. so you actually skim out the PO4 with the chemicals .. according the instructions also .. if your skimmer not efficient, then after 12 hours .. the chemical bonds break down .. and the PO4 actually returns to the system .. maybe they work the same way ??

Eudaceous bro .. I noticed mine skims funny (maybe because I have a lower bioload??) it'll go crazy for about 1/2 day every 2 days or so .. and leave a light colored deposit in the cup (about 200cc).. after that the bubbles never climb above 1cm inside the cup ?!?! same thing happens after I changed water .. hmm .. maybe the DOC not high enough to produce foam for a few days Anyway .. now fighting BAD PO4 and nitrate levels .. going to look for a good denitrator liao .. 3x1.5x2 tank 1 big fish 2 medium fish (1 algae blenny food fiesta now) 8 small fishes 3 big shrimps 2 small shrimps + multiple funny things crawling to clean the tank maybe a redesign of my sump is in order ..

Bad news .. huge 5" purple tang attacked my hifin yellow nose yesterday (paired to another pistol) .. found him in the IOS quite badly chewed up .. this morning dead (my IOS danger area .. 3 gobies jumped in liao .. 1 died leaving decomposed body .. 2 died the day after)

BTW anyone paired flame gobies ?? These 2 romping around in the tank .. 1 recent addition and 1 survivor of the holocaust (10 gobies left 1 due to some mysterious disease that has fin rot and weird lesions on the bodies) and when I say romping .. I REALLY MEAN ROMPING nipping dancing circling touch tails and sleeps together

if it looks clean .. it's because I just cleaned it when I changed the water Seriously .. if not for the footprint .. I'd NOT get this skimmer .. I'd gotten the cheaper needlewheel skimmer from Aquamarine .. only 1/5 the price (got a good deal from nelson as it was the last piece) Again if you ignore salmon11's shushing people and such .. he does have a point .. NOTE AGAIN .. I BOUGHT IT BECAUSE OF THE FOOTPRINT .. as you can see from the picts .. very cramp conditions .. also my hobby is spend money Happy New Year

update .. working as it should now .. here's some picts .. seems to work almost like my previous weipro maybe it's mostly wet skimming weird in that it need 1-2 days to break in .. Parameters with weipro in operation NO2- 0ppm NO3- 12.5ppm (tetra test) PO4 - 0.25 (sera test) parameters with tunze in operation (note it's only 1 week) NO2 - 0ppm NO3 - 50ppm (tetra) ?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!? PO4 - 0.1 (sera) beginning to hate big tank .. 10% change of water is only 26.4L ... changed 3 pails of 18.9kg coralife pails .. Grr .. still almost same NO3 level maybe because I feed garlic mix .. and these are beginning to generate NO3 as the fish don't eat the garlic .. here's some pict in operation ..

define shortlived .. I have a firefish with me for about 4 months and it recently died on me likewise I have firefish with me for 2 days / 2 weeks etc .. same goes for flame goby .. but it seems like they are more difficult to rear than fire gobies

salmon11 tunze 9015.. working now.. the skimate is wetter with more air rite now.. i'll let it settle down before making it drier.. it does takes a long time to build the foam as it has a taller neck.. bro.. i went thru all (yes all!) your posts.. and 90% are almost flames.. but i read deeper and also understand you're trying to help fellow reefers here.. think you need to tone down your approach coz i almost ignored all your posts as just flamebait.. it (tunze) may not be better than some other brands/types but for me its the form factor that attracted me.. small and compact thanks for your other side of the coin view

used to have 3 cerianthus 1 rose 1 plain n 1 purple.. rose about 5inch open up.. all my fish avoided the space they occupy.. then the rose died taking about 1/2 my fish with it just be careful with themmy tank n fish small so not much space for the fish to move around..

Eudaceous, thanks to your irresponsible review n backed by your ugly pictures.. i went and bought a tunze myself j/k my weipro 2013 is taking up too much space so i decided to get something more compact.. wala.. ur review reef depot didn't have the 9010 in stock.. so i got the next bigger tunze fired up for 1/2 day liao.. nothing no foam no skimate hopefully its break in (1 to 3 days hmm) hopefully get something tomorrow.. otherwise wasted money maybe overkill big time as my tank only 64gal.. + sump another 15 gal max..
