Ah .. finally came out This is another slightly different rendalli in that the stripes are orangy instead of the usual yellow

hmm didn't know the tangs are poo machines but they are indeed non stop grazers .. coz I have to put in the seaweed everyday and I feed everyday too !!! Now it's consistently 3-4 days .. just nice 1 week change once smells like my son's poo (or worse) when I clear it

just in case I get flamed for getting cleaner .. I SAY AGAIN .. this guy looks different from the normal cleaners at LFS .. one thing.. the color is very vibrant .. and it loves the food .. maybe time will tell .. but I can complain to the shop owner later since he gave me his word !!!

Got one recently .. soooo smitten by it that I think I like to collect as many as possible .. different colors and sizes of course single rock I got surprised me when it opened up to orange and yellow suns !! thinking back .. should have gotten the black also .. what other colours are there ??? I like that dendros too .. but not willing to invest

followed henry's recommendation on placement of sun corals .. 3rd day in the tank .. initial position no so much lighting .. very interesting observation also .. sun will remain closed until I fed the fish .. think the smell of the food entices it to open up rather quickly !! and surprisingly .. the lights have nothing to do with it being open or close 4 day observation is .. it'll open when it wants to .. lights off it doesn't open .. lights on it doesn't open until feeding time .. then open for a long while .. Initial position medium flow, low light position day 1 50% open

Can anyone define what is marine velvet ?? My purple tang has this tiny white dots on its body also .. but it seems like minute bubbles (it used to have white spots bigger pieces, but after addition of my cleaner wrasse, no more such spots)

I just gotten my sun corals .. referenced Henry's helpful post on keeping suns.. and mine opened with 1/2 a day (only about 50% of the polyps .. still waiting for the rest to open ) they begin to open with the smell of food .. kekekeke .. wonder if that's true and surprise surprise .. mine opened up to 2 difference colors .. 1/2 of them yellow and 1/2 of them orange !! geez .. should have gotten the ones that include black !!!!!

hi .. my scallop seemed to found the perfect place to hide .. just under a rock arch .. still visible from outside the tank .. it's an area of low flow where all the leftover foods goes to and settle .. I'll monitor and see if it needs more food (er .. how do I tell ??) but it seems happy there .. never adjust position already..

define bioload !! I have 1 purple tang 4"-5" 1 brown tang 2.5" 1 devil damsel 2" (1st fish and can't catch him out ) 1 maroon 2.5" 1 algae blenny 5" length 1 dartfish 4 shrimp gobies 2 flame and 1 fire goby 1 blood shrimp 2 candy pistols 1 scallop cleaner crews 3 sanddollars 1 brittlestar (huge guy) 1 cleaner shrimp 1 peppermint shrimp 1 strombus alot of snails running around all these housed in a 3 x 1.5 x 2 tank is this high or low bioload ? I clean whenever I see it fill up to the 600ml mark .. I can't do 1 or 2 day .. coz not enough gunk to clean the water is surprisingly clear this few weeks (last water change about 1.5weeks ago).. previously it's abit stained and alot of sediments floating (maybe I redid my filtering that's why too )

Eudaceous thanks for the offer .. the instructions says foam will be light and aqueous if the bioload is not high enough .. it's not necessary to see dark skimmate Anyway .. after letting it run in I have the new results I believe we see differently because I use a skimmer thats way behind my fishtank size .. and interestingly this was also mentioned in the manual (gee got to read more .. ) if the DOC is low .. the skimmer will drop in bubble level until there's more DOC .. so effectively .. my tank is as clean as can be for DOC removal .. it goes crazy during feeding time .. and then after that it drops :lol: My No3 ?? so (%*$#(%&@#(@!)(@)#$(#@ died behind my rock .. hahahahahaha .. it's back below 25ppm now .. I'll see how well it controls the buildup .. since mine is a relatively new tank (4 months old) Oh yes .. I thank you for your review here .. the problems I thought I had was the initial start of the skimmer.. but afterwards .. it works pretty much as advertised .. MUCH better than my weipro feast your eyes on This is 2 weeks never washed cup 1st week recommended 3 turns on the screw .. 2nd week 2.5 turns .. gotta wash it cos the cabinet area STINKS !!! hehehehehe

mine eat seaweed n algae.. din teach it.. tank ran out of algae n it started eating seaweed meant for tangs din like henry's mix.. so.. good for him as he still work when i have algae outbreak (like now )
