Interesting .. the ability of the Tunze to skim is really very tied to the water level !! with the water level at around 5-6in depth .. the bubbles is cotton candy type (finally see what is cotton candy type bubbles ) .. the skimmate is BLACK collects about once 3 days or so .. very dry .. with water level near the waterline .. the skim is wetter .. lighter brown collection and quite watery every 2 days or so .. Salmon11 .. thanks for the suggestion .. I'll go wall it up now that I know

no idea .. just thought its bleached coz it broke off the main branch and was basically upside down for about a day .. closeup .. Sunny I stay at Bkt Panjang.. work in changi once I get back my car, I can drop off the mushy at your place after work.. just dunno when that will be
-
Don't forget too .. it could be stress spots .. not necessarily itch .. stress spots can develop into itch if not watched properly .. I agree .. UV lights are good Ran it for a couple of days .. the tank and the fish looked brilliant .. with any spots fin decays all gone ..
-
Cool .. name time and place .. reserved #1 for me then my car is broke now after trackday .. so will be temporarily handicapped sian

Luminous green Rho ? trade with 1st mush ?? fell off the branch and it seems there's a bit of bleached area .. think you can see it from the pict .. and there's alittle bit of frag on the top of the branch too ..

yes there's bubbles .. but its at the bottom of the cup .. right at the bottom .. and not foaming .. it'll start foaming once in a while (like I mentioned .. about 2 days once) .. then it'll drop down again at the bottom .. So any bros can tell me if skimmers can really do that ?? how about those super duper LFS becketts ?? my bioload can't be that low .. can it ??
-
eh.. its possible to skim until nothing either that or i introduced rdsb reducing the effects of 5he skimmer for a while scared something wrong coz all of a sudden no bubbles

read a very very interesting read on reef central .. thanks to some bros here for the reference .. decide to try it out .. today day zero after setting up salinity 1.023 NO2 0 NO3 50 (tetra test) PO4 ?? lets see the results 1 week later .. probably nothing Total cost : $30 bucket - free coral life bucket connectors and tubes and glue - $15.0 sand - grade 0 a 1 - $15 (regret .. should have gone changi collect ) pump - previously used sicce (since no one wants to buy it )

came with the rhodactis I just bought .. Is it reef safe ? BTW .. maybe I'm paranoid .. but this thing is like 1.5mm (YES!) big.. since a 2cm mantis can kill off 5 of my gobies ..

update .. still working on the crap .. 2nd day after washing .. usually nothing on the 3rd and then on the 4th .. the crap turns black .. so is this considered wet .. and then dry skimming???

Hi .. I use this tidbit as a guide.. http://www.sgreefclub.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=27786 I also don't know how difficult it is to keep these corals .. and I don't measure calcium or other things as long as my bloodshrimp is happy, I think the rest are happy If you check out my placement .. I don't really target feed .. since the outlet pipe allows the current to flow directly to the suns .. My feeding schedule for the sun very simple .. Scrape a little bit of Henry's mix and pour near the outlet .. within 15 minutes all the suns will be open .. and then I feed the fish .. the floating bits will be blown by the outlet to the suns .. and that's how they feed When I target feed .. once I'm done, the blood shrimp will come out and steal the mysis.. now trying to settle into the rhythm of only target feed during weekends.. (since not all the polyps capture the floating bits) Good luck !! BTW I have a relatively new tank .. so I think its not really difficult .. just troublesome since I have to target feed now ..
-
Overall pict, this is where I placed the sun corals .. that's the outlet pipe, blowing across diagonally towards the sun corals.. buffered abit by the rocks prior to reaching the sun .. not planned just by chance I had such a position
-
DRATO11 !! you can see the current blowing on the suns (so to speak !!) it's about 3-4 inches off the sandbed, just at the edge of the rock .. simulating it's natural environment (I hope)
-
hey Eudaceous, you notice any difference to skimmer effectiveness depending on the water level in the sump?? my water level dropped quite abit since i started using the skimmer.. and at approx 5" i almost overflowed the cup today 1.4L man that cud be the other reason mine worked slower too
-
Ok .. they lined up for me .. :lol my 2nd yashia, hifin and rendall .. maybe I should buy a bunch of pistols ..

1 of my 5 inverts hiding in the rocks .. this is a 'useless' one .. hanging around my suns for a freebie every time !! My cleaner shrimp has a job.. and my peppermint keeps my tank free from aptasia !! of course .. the other cleaner crews I can't snap are 7" brittle star strombus shit eater 3 sand dollar shit stirrer multitude of snails.. hey .. should I get rid of bristleworms ???? they look disgusting !!

my pistol yashia pair found this lobang to call their home .. good thing is still can be viewed from the sides .. bad thing is it's hidden behind the LR from the front side ..
