Too bad the AquaC and Tunze cant fit my tank. Set the water level slightly higher than the o-ring in the neck. Watery is because the water level too high.

Bro, the prism skimmer is like this, not very effective. I have used it at the start of hobby on a 3 ft. When I upgraded to 5 ft tank and used in sump skimmer like HS skimmers I find them more effective. Now coming back to hobby after a few years starting with a 3 ft again and looking around for a skimmer and LFS still recommended RS prism skimmer to be the best for hang on skimmer. lol

Went to a LFS and was recommended Reef Vital DNA as bacterial to start the tank. I read the contents looks like more for corals when I intend to keep only fishes Have any bros used it before? Thanks

Thanks bro sol077. Reason why I dun want to put LRs is because they will cause unsightly dust and debris on the bottom of the tank. I want a simple and neat tank like LFs tanks in which they put fishes for sale. I like to see fishes swimming in tank but dun fancy live rocks with no corals.

I intend to set up a fish only tank with no live rocks and no sand for easy maintenance. To ensure fishes are not stressed, I will put in artificial corals and rocks as hiding places for them. Do you think it will work? Any bros have such a setup and can show pics? All advice are welcome.

- I didnt ask the LFS shop thickness because at that time I just wanted a tank for FW. Bought a half round 2.5ft tank. Will drop by the shop and ask them later. Thanks bros you all are very and very helpful.

Hi, I am converting my arowana tank to marine. Instead of cycling water from scratch, I am thinking of using water from my arowana tank to start a marine tank i.e. change 30% of water and put marine salt and let it run for a few days. I intend to keep marine fishes only. Will the existing bacteria in the cannister filter die due to high salinity? Is it a good idea? All advice are welcome. Thanks!

Last Oct went to Cairns for work and took a trip to Great Barrier Reef and scuba dive. The sight is breathe-taking and seeing the fishes swimming among the corals in their natural habitat is so awesome. I decided to give up the 5ft tank when I came back because nothing else can come close to the real thing. Better let the fishes be in their natural environment. Now into cars and yes, started chasing after holes... golf lah! Nevertheless still come in to SRC to chat once in awhile. Cheers everyone
