i was also thinking the 5 years route would be a little too slow.... but i heard from another cousin that if she does badly after the first year in Express, she will be brought back to the Normal stream.... anyway, how many subjects must she take at Express level or Normal level...i am really out of touch with the syllabus.. i still remember taking 9 subjects at 0-level yux yux yux

Anyone with young relatives who received their results today? my little cousin received hers today.... nice piece but do be careful This Pseudocorynactis from Fiji is beautiful but not safe with fishes and adjacent invertebrates. It is a voracious eater that has powerful nematocysts in the ball-like tentacle tips. Pseudocorynactis spp. are like Corynactis but are much larger (to about six inches (15 cm) diameter, and usually not colonial. They also reproduce by fission, but it is unusual to find more than about six clones together as a group. The so-called orange ball anemones that can be observed on coral reefs at night are Pseudocorynactis spp. The column varies in color from cryptic shades of brown to orange, red and magenta. The tips of the tentacles are commonly bright orange, but they can also be white. These tentacle tips are extremely sticky, like flypaper, due to the presence of powerful nematocysts. This fact makes the larger species from the Indo Pacific region unsuitable for aquariums housing fishes, which they readily capture. They also can catch mobile invertebrates such as shrimps and snails, and sometimes "attack" sessile invertebrates growing on adjacent rocks, enveloping them in the gastric cavity through a widely opened mouth. Pseudocorynactis spp. can be fed daily, but only require twice weekly feeding to keep them healthy. If they are not fed frequently enough, they shrink. There is a marked behavioral difference between the common Caribbean and Indo-Pacific species. The Caribbean species, Pseudocorynactis caribbaeorum mainly opens its tentacles at night, and closes rapidly when it senses light. The Indo-Pacific species remains open both day and night, and is not sensitive to light. The presence of food smells (dissolved amino acids) in the water stimulates either species to open up and extend the tentacles, and the caribbean species can be trained to open in the light by feeding it during daylight hours. The mechanism for its apparent memory is not known. http://www.advancedaquarist.com/issues/oct2002/invert.htm

so why dun you temporarily remove all the swinging lps and let the clowns have no choice but to turn to the anemone for swinging confort after some time then put your swinging lps back....but if after putting back the clowns still go disturb the lps....then all i can say is that you have really playful clowns
-
sometimes the clowns get too enthusiastic and they even irritate small anemones to the point of killing them.....so yes....lps are no exception to playful clowns...just got to monitor the degree of fun they are having with your lps...hehe for me....my clowns took to my anemone like opposite poles of the magnet...probably because at that time not much swinging lps around to distract them as alternative clownpads

not surprising, there have been posts here of clowns hosting in hammers or other meaty swaying lps.... nice sohal in your avatar yus but if the clowns are playing so much that the coral does not open much, time to put the coral away from the clowns or sell it away...

well said AT. i like this one It's almost similar to wanting to find, import and breed only the most beautiful birds of paradise to see if you call off their endangered status in future with the main goals to breed only the most desired colours by 'genetic manipulation' with no concrete plans how to release healthy adult specimens back into the wild without the help of avian scientists, researchers, conservation groups, airline and logistic companies, government bodies and the WWF or CITIES and getting the mass media involved to promote this noble goal. the *proposed* project sounds noble and well intented but we must not forget it does take alot of bodies and funds for it to become a reality, let alone a success. Projects of such scale may be a problem for even NUS, so i am a little worried and a little skeptical. sorry but i will be glad to be proved otherwise.
