what do your guys use to connect the pipe to the scwd efficiently? mine is the 20mm pump return pipe....
-
hehe...i think adding a ruler to items makes visualization easier... that reminds me that even crime scene photographers put a ruler tape to every item they photograph so that size can be determined ....
-
yeah man...who on earth taught them to lay eggs on the glass....they should do so on the substrate mah hor...hehe wah..then i must go and see when those small snails crawl out of the sacs..
-
yeah..sump tank 4 ft as well....2 x 150w MH above main tank the sand bed area is about 2.5 ft long... er. ..i really wonder how u see the sandbed as only 1 or 2 inches...hmm hmmm here is the picture against a ruler...
-
yeah lor..jia lat..now cannot clean the glass... i think they swim out as larvae if i am not wrong and then grow their shells slowly over time...not sure..
-
jia lat..whole tank covered with the narc#@$% snail eggs cannot clean the tank..damn dirty now..same as AT's case, how ah... at least 30 such egg sacs on my front tank... anyone knows how long is the gestation period of the eggs?

baby durso meets papa durso actually according to the durso founder, the size of the durso pipe does not really matter....its the bulkhead size that matters.... but from the practical run of my tank, i prefer the bigger pipe

flubber sis: yeah...now after busy doing the tank, i have to convince her that she is the most important thing....more important than my tank...otherwise, she going to nuke my tank with some WMD..haha exactly, i was thinking of either get tankmaker who made my tank to do some cosmetic woodwork for the sump or i go DIY some black acrylic panels myself...but that can wait lah..till all the cyling and stuff is over and i more or less done up the sump...... still havent put in my skimmer properly...i know i stinge alot here on the skimmer....only using weipro 2014...but i guess dun stock too much lor....i prefer the use of macroalgae to get rid of the nutrients like the system in my 2 foot presently...
-
dr evil: yeah..can't wait to stock it..but i know patience is important....i graduated from my 2 foot already...so now on to 4 foot...next time my own flat when married----> 6 foot...hehe thanks for the blue tub..although i haven't use it yet..hehe
-
thanks woonming.... see u soon for your mushies....
-
you can pm orgast about it..he got it for me.. orgast: must treat me makan ah...free advertisement for you...haha
-
nope...i made the 2 durso pipes myself....but i may end up doing another 2 bigger pipes coz the flow of my eheim 1262 seems to overwork the 2 pipes.... evidence: the water level is above the elbow of the durso pipes..meaning full flow already..not good... the bulkheads, valves and pump return piping was done by the tankmaker
-
yeah..thats why i made 2 durso pipes already no noise about the fall liao...but there is slight bubbling when the water exits into the sump...trying to solve that now...
-
its best u go for MH if u can afford the heat issues....coz mh light is from a point source whereas t5 wattage is spread out along the whole tube.....and to punch through the depth of water....t5 will lose to MH.. many threads in here about this issue already actually..hehehe
-
just normal rocks...if buying fiji...better get those branches type....if not everyone can't tell also...get those branches...one look..u know its fiji or tonga rock already...
-
i would rate it as very good.....can see that the seams are properly joined and neatly siliconed......the silicon is from germany...you can ask him if you are particular about it...
-
thanks marine: actually very simple concept of a bar held by 2 metal chains in the ceiling....and then just hang the 2 mh on the bar...hehehe...
-
live rocks some i got from woon ming....some i got from topic marine farm
-
will see how to hide the sump tank..maybe go cut some black acrylic to diy some covers/doors to access the sump or some other way..hehe yeah...full eurobracing inwards around 3 inches from edges of tank and center bracing from front to back of tank is about 7 inches....using 10mm glass just like the tank itself...
-
right on...mr tankmaker...his service really very good....polite and customer oriented...
