hmm.....lack of passion should be similar as lack of interest hor...cos found other things to be passionate about or interested about.... when priorities change, can be slightly considered as lack of interest also because found other things better to do... as for fengshui....probably under lack of interest/passion also lah why leh? because if one is full of passion for this hobby...nothing can stop him....more so for intangible reasons like fengshui... say for example one is full of passion for this gal and already considering marriage and a fortune teller says that they 'clash' each other and will result in an unhappy marriage or disaster, does he go ahead and marry her with the passion in him or does he believe the fortune teller/fengshui master and leave the gal? obviously if he marries the gal despite this master's advice, that means he has so much passion and love for the gal and nothing can deter him. but if he leaves the gal and heed the master's advice, obviously he is not passionate enough to stand by his love. his so-called passion is just wafer thin and cannot stand the test. so it comes back to lack of passion/interest

might as well say have a home-based job as back up also SOHO's the way
-
hahaha..jd... better be paranoid but prepared than devasted when disaster happens right?

yeah... why subject oneself to the emotional stress and anxiety of standing in front of his/her tank and using all the fans that he/she can find and blow the tank , and using wrapped ice-dips and yet watching the tank temperature creeping up however slowly by virtue of the hot afternoon/season and critical pumps..... hoping and praying the replacement chiller will be delivered soon or the ice at 7-eleven will not run out... what if the chiller can only be delivered the next day? lose sleep over it and watch the tank overnight? so after this *projected scenario*, i guess all these unwanted emotions can be easily avoided by the additonal loop in the first place join the BUL movement. (Back Up Loop)

being informed is one thing... it's the lead time between the single chiller failure and the time when a replacement is set up in place that's critical
-
that's our purpose you see.... to encourage you to contribute more to the economy
-
heng no major casualty for you bro.... that's why i always wonder why we can spend money on building up our reef and then never think of protecting our *investment*.... so i hope to see more reefers here protecting their investment with a double loop consider the expense of the backup loop as insurance premium lor...hehe
-
glad i have company 2 chillers 2 chillers 2 chillers anyway, u mean Mr Murphy visited you even with 2 cooling loops? the whole house circuit trip ah? then 10 loops also no use i agree... what happened ah, can share with us your experience?
-
that time your buddy kschew was here with gouldian & wife but that time i dunno you well yet... I think that time you were at home counting down the days to the arrival of your bbk

probably from the cleaner wrasse family too? i seen a few variations of the colours on the body...but does the body shape resemble the usual cleaner wrasse? -
Have been noticing alot of giving up sales towards end of last year and the momentum has been continuing... what is happening and what do you think are the reasons. i know sometimes it may be a combination of reasons...but let's make it easier and just vote the TOP reason why you think you would or someone would give up reefing
-
Mr Murphy looks down on nutcases and will not waste his time visiting nutcases nutcase i shall be and shall remain
-
okok... any other reefers in here using 2 chillers, one as main and one as backup or am i the only nutcase in here I definitely do not welcome Mr Murphy
-
dun worry, nothing much to impress you one lah.... u din miss much by not visiting my place i think agar agar just over 10 reefers in here or so have visited me (victor of iwarna also) , and i don't think they went home impressed anyway but yah...hope our paths cross each other one day... in the lfs maybe....and please stay behind me after you cross hor, let me pick my stuff first i mean just kidding lah

this is the quattro http://www.sgreefclub.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=23239
-
if you were in the forum long enough, you would have known that roidan no longer accepts visitors once the quattro was in use it is a gentleman pact between the few that had a part in my quattro I don't want visitors who come with carpenter's rule and all nonetheless, back to topic...for those who have back up chillers...should try testing their back up every once in a while to make sure it works....scarly it doesn't work when it is needed to and the backup loop would have been wasting your electricity by not even kicking in when it's supposed to.

i set my artica at 27.0....and set my teco at 28.... so the artica as my main chiller is always in operation from (26.6-27.4) whereas the teco is in standby mode....when the artica fails and the teco reads 29, it will kick in...or i can set the teco to 27 and when the temp reach 28, it will kick in to save the reef when artica is out

what you heard was burst shooting at 5fps....your coming D70 only 3fps hor... but dun worry...should be more than enough the machine gun sound damn addictive hor...i got addicted while hearing weileong's D70 while i was still using my sony f828...

Best way to remove silicates and silicic acid??
roidan replied to jOsHiE's topic in New to the Marine Aquaria Hobby
this is called intentional workforce inefficiency so that there is still room for productivity improvement -
mine only a wide landscape lens... wait till weileong shoots your reef with his macro lens.... white spot also can see wriggling on the scales maybe nice regal you have...almost tempted to net it back also

roidan replied to jOsHiE's topic in New to the Marine Aquaria Hobby
it's not mentioned on the instruction sheet with the rowa..but it's in the website.. but anyway, most phosphate removers will remove silicates in the absence of phosphates....so when you use rowa...as the phosphates get readily removed and there is still excess capacity for rowa to work, it will start to remove silicates. -
if you are using a less-reliable brand of chiller.... get another one as back up on a 2nd cooling loop lor.... if one chiller goes kapoop, the other one will back up while you are not around or while u are getting a replacement... if the ONLY chiller goes kapoop....all you can do is off the lights and unnecessary pumps but the temperature will still rise and rise just by the remaining pumps and ambient temperature and for sps keepers...there goes all your hard work..... no point lah..spend so much on corals/fishes....either get a reliable chiller built on years and year of reputation or get 2 cheaper ones on separate loops like i said lor...cos chillers not say u want to get it now, means you can get it now... i am now running artica on my main loop and teco as my backup loop
