i havent used any co2 cylinder before or examine one closely before.. but the 2 meter may mean..one to measure the output of the cylinder...the other is the internal pressure of the cylinder... hehe...but may be wrong...dun take my word for it and if correct, the green scale is surely the pressure in the tank..the red scale is the output pressure

yeah lor...coz i dun have the whole background as rockwall, so very few places to place the corals....sigh......want a slope have to sacrifice coral placement space... that's why have to reposition some corals liao lor..since they are doing ok and blooming, so now can slowly move them around my tank and hope doesn't disturb their fengshui...hehe

thanks bro.. but seriously i have to rearrange some of my corals liao..coz some are too close to each other for my liking.... because at first i just place them wherever got space because i expect some of them to decline in health and die since i transfer them from tank to tank....so that time just thought of letting them get used to the system and then see who remains and then do a serious placement of the corals... so far no casualties except my red sea fan that had a branch with algae that consistently came back despite facing the high flow from my stream...so decided to take it out before the algae starts to cover my purple and yellow gorgonians...

Is chlorine only chemical I should be concerned?
roidan replied to Saltedpals's topic in New to the Marine Aquaria Hobby
firstly...now there is chloramine in our water, u need chemical addition to neutralise it.... seachem prime is one such product to use...there are many others...make sure you see chlorine and chloramine on the label... boiling, i am not sure it will get rid of chlorine..but it definitely allows very little dissolved oxygen in the water, but since you are using it for top up, should not make a big difference... so if the chlorine/chloramine thing is bothering you, go get a bottle of those chemical neutralizer stuff -
i also using the same chiller to cool my 6ft....doesn't operate all the time and from what i notice, also about tanggy's runtime... maybe coz my tank has no direct sunlight in a cooler part of the house... whole utilities bill increase due to this 6fter tank + 2fter clam tank is about $80...i dun bother to work backwards to find out how long my chiller works... but as long as it can work...and the electricity bill is within my expectations....its fine

his teco 680 is 1/2 hp

if you have a chiller in the system, my choice would be the MH

got from a bro here... its a giesemann 150W DE...inside is a BLV 10 000K bulb... not sure a new one will be how much, maybe around 500 to 600... a 250W version will be better of coz...more light is definitely welcomed by the clams...but hang the lights higher up and slowly lower it to avoid sudden intense lighting shock to the clams..

unless specifically there are UV-cut or UV-filter printed on the glass itself, try not to use those without any indications of UV protection whenever there are alternatives available.. tempered glass is used to prevent sudden cracks and glass bursts when water splashes onto the glass...and tempered glass tends to break in non-sharp edges... but this tempered nature of the glass does almost nothing to block harmful UV rays....unless the tempered glass went through another process to coat it with UV coating properties in fact....most MH holder glass are made of tempered glass more for the safety factor in the event of breakage ...but not all the glass used in such holders are UV protected

the other one that turned colour this photo taken on 6jan maybe coz i placed them too high up, so they turned brown to protect themselves? maybe i should place one of them to the bottom and see if the *white* will come back again...hehe
