purple queens not easy.. i feed hell lot to them and end up my tangs get bigger faster and chickened out at about 5 months mark or so, those can net out i net out...those cannot net out i let them starve by reducing feeding frequency and amount now my AT is in the 5th month....hope it can get pass a year

MX70 u mean? if buy from iwaki singapore would probably set you back more than 1k plus...but u get warranty from them... if get from HK, probably pay half the price...but no warranty

whether healthy or not, it's hard to tell because there are many well feeding ones that will succumb to illness like whitespot and die just as easily... but the main advantage of choosing a pecking/eating specimen from an lfs is that, this specimen is not on a hunger strike at the moment and is willing to find and accept food for itself....that itself is a big factor in getting a good specimen that will last.. no point buying very nice looking fishes only to see them continue their hunger strikes in our tanks and worry here and there with what to feed them....on the other hand, a shabbier looking fish with an appetite may turn things around when it starts to accept better food in our tanks and get stronger and healthier... but of coz there are cases where u see the fishes eating in the lfs and yet when you bring home, they go on hunger strike....such things do happen... and all these uncertainties just makes fishes more interesting to interact with

ryan, are there any flow rate graphs on the box or manual? would be interested to know the flow rate at various heights

tat's why i was keeping my fingers crossed after my minor rescape of some rocks....thank goodness nothing happen except now and then some white dots on the jet black velvet skin of my AT....but nothing too serious i always look at my AT for signs of whitespot...as it's the easiest to see on a black surface of his skin, high contrast level

those are the real masters.... amateur reefers like me are just farting around in here every time i feel tempted to venture into sps...i ask myself.. how much more money and effort i must put into this hobby to get to that standard... my answer to myself is ....almost impossible.... and so i can happily stick to my own beginner reef tank and be happy with what i have

anyway, mine is a beginner reef tank.... heaven and earth from this masterpiece, every now and then i feel like hopping over to see the sps

yeah yeah....but my lights 150W only, dun wanna torture sps leh...lol having green or brown ah....quite easy i think..just need to find space to squeeze more stuff in, have to learn from you i have a few greenish corals waiting to put mounted in there....like common hammers, torch..... i can't wait to see them waving....but i have a feeling they may get botak.... i took out a few small elegance corals to the small tank beside...because the waves are messing them up as for the pratas and buttons...most of them i got them some time back...when prices weren't so high as now.... nowadays i go lfs to look for hammers, torch, frogspawn....and i hear people asking the lfs owners for red pratas and red buttons....

yeah lor...everyday see the tank got CNY mood ang gong gong heng got blue background...otherwise become red sea...
