  2. say thanks for? i din know you are using my picture until i see it myself in this thread ....hahaha i also dunno where my chief architect got it from.... anyway i believe AquaC is using the same airvalve...maybe you can email them to ask them where they get theirs

  4. my hands do not lie to me i touched a resun md55 and the real McCoy Iwaki md55... one is hot....one is warm as for heat transfer to water....that i cannot prove quantitatively he probably got it from fish street oh ya weileong, how many R.Y. did you bring back i was shocked when u told me the price

  7. i am using salifert Mg test kit...think you can try EAN, rebo%n or the one nearby
  8. actually my AT is quite a gentle giant....and somehow my sohal dare not bully my AT..in fact it is the only tang that the sohal allows first priority to feed at the vege clip.....he will share with the AT...and then keeps himself busy trying to chase the sailfin away and then come back to join AT for makan again...lol yeah..deepblue is the one who calls my AT the gentle giant....good description
  9. actually if want to consider the whole system should be 6ft + 5ftsump + 2ft side tank = 13ft actually as long as you have space for your tangs to grow up and have places to rehome them once they grow too big for comfort, why not?
  10. i would say all tangs have their own individual personality and behaviour although they usually conform to the broad species behaviour that they belong to. in my system, i would say my chevron is the most docile tang and seldom get into skirmishes with other tangs... in fact i remembered saying that when my chevron was introduced, it was the only tang that did not get harassed by the existing tangs.....maybe the other tangs thought it was a flame angel instead just kidding... more often than not, chevrons are milder than sohals ... much milder
  11. still the rascal of my tank....hehe actually i dunno and cannot tell you whether is it the max or not.....really gotta go by your own judgement....there are rough guidelines like how many inches of fish length to how much water in the system...but even that is not accurate....and probably some treat it as bullsXXt.. it's a balance of art and science at the same time....which is what makes this hobby interesting
  12. pic on 10Sep, at first rather worried that such a deep open gash would be open doors for disease/parasites...but luckily nothing happened
  13. yellow tang slash on the body healed up already..but can still see a shade of the gash
  14. i still prefer the 21May pic.... that's why i am using it as my avatar now..hehe thanks gouldian.... chevrons are actually quite easy to take care...if not for him....i think most of my rocks will be covered with green algae already....coz i feed heavily and that's good food for algae..hehe

  20. when u started this thread..i agar agar know where u are referring to yeah...those distant yellow top band and light purple body anthias are the evansi anthias.... but the very colourful anthias i do not really know their identity.....did not stare at them long enough to remember now to cross-reference with online guides...
  21. around for dispar anthias i saw some alpha male anthias in i-aquarium which is very colourful..dunno exactly what species those are.....but i know those aren't bartletts....
