  7. which colour is nicest as back ground ah.... black/pale sky blue/ dark blue....
  8. flubberina: did you buy the non controllable stream? will you buy the controllable one knowing the strength of the stream now? coz the price of the controllable one with control kit can buy 2 normal streams already...
  9. mind telling how much you spent on the rocks?
  10. where still got this? alot of places only have 2011 and 2012....only saw at topic marine...but very expensive...
  11. any experts here on this issue? a simple way to see it is that all those corals we buy from LFS are usually chiselled off the parent piece...do we see any hairline cracks? some yes...but most not i think... like the pieces of mushrooms on rocks....must be a huge rock of them growing in the reef..but somehow was broken/chiselled using some tools to get them to the size we have in our tanks ...
  12. coral sand 0 is out of stock liao..but they have this brown version very fine also...seems like riversand... anyway, i got my almost white superfine sand last time from the 24hr polya#% at clementi 328......came only in small packets and not the 10KG packets...very nice and clean looking but wasted dun have big bags.... seldom see pure white *talcum powder* size sand in LFS already....all quite grainy one...
  13. actually quite if not most of the LR have been chiselled off bigger rocks to get to the size we see in LFS....so if u wanna chisel...should be not problem as long as u dont use them as foundation of your rockwork in case there are fracture lines developed that you couldn't see...
  14. think with a chisel and hammer...u can create what shapes u want from a cheaper liverock lor....maybe carve a mermaid
  15. must we put them in low flow areas to acclimatise? how about placement under 150W mh 10kk bulb? put them on the sandbed or mid level? hehe
  16. but then the precious coraline algae on the LR will also die off right? wat a waste..hehe me changing to new tank soon...have to ponder over the same problem also....sorry for repling in your thread hamann
  17. should be those normal type of silicon instead of the high end don corning that you guys use in your tanks lor... seems like i have to get at least 10mm for the same size if using normal aquarium silicon then
  18. means 6 inches of sand + 6 inches of water cant hold in such a tank hor...sigh...must spend money again
  19. i have an old 4ft tank which i may want to convert into a bottom refugium for a new planned 4 foot main tank the height of this old tank is 1.5ft....tank base is 8mm and sides 6mm....do you think it can hold sand of 6 inches high if i keep water level at 1 foot? meaning 6 inches of sand and 6 inches of water on top of the sand....can hold or not ah....
