mangroves are good that they dun go asexual, but they generally grow slower than some caulerpa

yeah lor..i think i went on a shopping spree that time...grabbed as many nice coraline encrusted branches as possible..haha now sump lit up by a single 54w t5...thinking of putting another t5 and then put nice nice mushies in there...hehehe...or even use clams as nitrate reduction method?? a bit unorthodox though, but the water depth is only about 6 inches...i think 2 54W T5s may provide just enough light for clams ....

sending first batch of stuff to sump tank...hehehe using 54W T5 lamp, it is really really very bright.....i have used FL, PL before...and this T5 thing is really impressive....thumbs up to T5 the pic does not do justice to the brightness..

yeah wat..u should always take care of your eyes ...at your company's expense...hahaha...

100Htz means u have a very comfortable pair of eyes when watching tv...the screen doesnt seem to flicker at all..very very comfortable to the eyes... just like our computer monitors...u set at low refresh rates...soon get watery and veins in the eyes but set at 85Htz or even higher at 100 or 120Htz...can stick to computer whole day without eye problems..lol

yeah..lcd has an advantage in that the pixels seem finer than plasma's...plasma can still see some small square pixels if u look at the screen closely..but LCD are like little dots..very very fine and good in that aspect.. but like i said earlier..once u move to the sides of the LCD screen..the screen darkens and at some angles, u can't really make out what is on the screen anymore....if your seating arrangements are only direct in front of the screen..then its fine...but sometimes u have sofa seats not directly facing the screen and thats where lies the inherent disadvantage of lcd... those using laptops now should know...once u view the screen at an angle ...the screen blurs off...

pioneer is good because its resolution is up to 1024x768 whereas panasonic ones are 800x600.... if u are watching our normal PAL system broadcast now, the panasonic ones may seem sharper because PAL resolution is around 800X600 or even less if i am not wrong, so if u watch current broadcast signals, panasonic may seem sharper because the pioneer have to stretch out the picture to fill the plasma panel.... but in fact, if given high definition signals, HDTV, pioneer will beat panasonic flat..hehee..my 2 *coins* worth

er..i tot is the other way round? lcd was around long long before the plasma word came around..hehehe

Selling my scwd with locline..... this enables u to output in 4 directions instead of 2 from the standard scwd...movable arms as well to adjust the directions easily... reason for selling: after installing it to the output of my main tank, felt that the output by itself is good enough for circulation together with my tunze stream....this gadget is cool but not necessary, so if any bros here want to buy...can offer me your price by PM.....i will sell as i deem fit.... thanks
-
actually the main advantage plasma has over lcd is that at almost every angle in the room, u can see the plasma clearly, whereas lcd screen seems blurred or even darkened off when u roam to the sides of the screen to look
-
definitely, that day i was at suntec LG showroom and saw the 60 inches plasma...wah liew...faint..hahhaa

bro ah siao: sump not slump lah...a few bros here mentioned to you liao... trying to be different and unique ah SLUMP: to fall or sink suddenly b : to drop or slide down suddenly : COLLAPSE <slumped to the floor> SUMP: 1 : a pit or reservoir serving as a drain or receptacle for liquids: as a : CESSPOOL b : a pit at the lowest point in a circulating or drainage system (as the oil-circulating system of an internal combustion engine

my tank is 4ft and sump 4 ft as well, using eheim 1262 for the return, it's good....i think by itself can provide just enough circulation of the main tank if u direct it at a suitable return position...

the presence of nitrites means that there are enough nitrites to develop aerobic bacteria to process nitrites into nitrates... the skimmer is to get rid of dissolved organics before it turns into ammonia.....which then leads to nitrites and nitrates...thus after the ammonia stage, whether u start using the skimmer or not, will not affect the cycle in a big way...

before buying a plasma or lcd screen....make sure it is compatible with incoming future developments in tv broadcasting, namely Digital TV broadcasting and HDTV..... i was thinking of a Pioneer or Panasonic that time, and after reading reviews from some HiFi magazines, surprise surprise, Hitachi seems to won quite a bit of reviews of its plasma panels....and Hitachi and Fujitsu shares the same flat panel factory in Japan

thats why must always faster wipe clean if there is any spill..try to wipe the saltwater off the glass before it gets to the stand...
-
yeah man...not really worth it..might as well invest in better skimmer or equipment..hehe
