i think all those methods are to relieve the fish slightly, the main part still depends on the fish itself to fight the ich..i read an article somewhere about inborn immunity and acquired immunity towards ich... some fishes like mandarin fish have an inborn immunity against the ich....others especially tangs are very easily affected by the ich and its through a few cycles of ich that they survive through and have an acquired immunity later on...for those tangs that survive... so, keep your fishes at the peak of their health, so that anytime ich strikes...the fish can fight it on its own and grow stronger from it...lol... the strongest survive...the weakest will succumb..

yeah.... well, in any case, just have to feed it once a week and see if it colours back to brown or maroon tentacles....hehe

if you can see from the picture..it is actually the sticker that turned green instead of the INNER circle that you mentioned that should be exposed by tearing the sticker... one thing about seachem's instructions was to remove the protective sticker...but it is the transparent sticker that cover the whole face of the unit..not this circular yellow sticker as you said... if i had removed the circular sticker, wouldn't this picture show a yellow all the time instead of what you are seeing in the picture now? The green-alert colour would not have been observed if i had taken out the sticker

actually hor...i did see a colour change as mentioned by some bros in the thread..the colour changed from yellow to light greenish.... there is a protective sheet as you said...but the protective sheet is the whole transparent white sheet that covered the whole unit...upon removing this transparent white sheet, if you still remove the center circle sticker that you suggested, then your ammonia will always be yellow (safe)...it is the circle yellow sticker that changes colour..... whatever the case, whether to take out the center yellow circular sticker or not, it did changed colour even though i did not take out the circular sticker and thus showed its use anyway...well, cycling is already over long way back..so no problem.... i know petm$rt removed the center sticker....but somehow something tells me that the center sticker is the indicator that will turn colour....heheh...i think u see too many pages until you din notice the sticker change colour ah..hehe
-
anyway, i happen to see this chart somewhere in my hard disk....maybe some bros here may be interested to know the colour temp...

Need advice on LR
roidan replied to Vincenttan's topic in Weekly LFS Stocks Report / LFS Info Centre
i suggest you type the search word cure or curing in the box and you will get a wealth of information from our bros postings..hehe no rule say must dip in freshwater...depends on the state of the rock you bought and if you wanna do a total kill of organisms good and bad in the rock.... if you want to keep the good stuff, dun dip in freshwater...but prepare for any bad pests in the rocks as well.... life is full of choices....make a choice... take the blue pill and you can go back to your make-belief world... or take the red pil...and i will show you how deep this marine hole can go.... -
