  4. hi all: i may put up this 4foot tank for sale....just the tank setup alone..without corals and livestock.....just the bare tank and sump and cabinet face... interested please PM me time to consolidate my attention and finance
  5. please lah..so many nice tanks out there...mine nothing special.. except for the twin towers maybe...lol tank still in mourning....
  6. yeah..read if from hdb website...cabinet..up to 6ft...stand..up to 4ft
  7. terry: how's your aquaC skimmer? good hor...
  8. very impressive concept....L shape...then some time later can do U shape liao....just make sure you dun go overboard and do until u no place to enter and exit the place..
  9. yeah lor..hahaha..thats why i give up the 8ft idea liao... maximum for cabinet concept without permit needed is 6.5ft by 3ft tank.... maximum for metal stand concept without permit is 4ft by duno how much ft.... hehehe..so mine just nice no need permit lor...sigh....8ft tank dream burst....lol the main reason why cabinet can do bigger is because the loading is uniform along the whole cabinet dimension whereas the stand with 4 or 6 legs...all the weight is acting on those legs, creating pressure points on the floor.... AT's tank is metal stand...but he did away with legs and rested the whole metal stand on piece of wood if i am not wrong....so the loading is along the whole horizontal beams of the stand...so it's the same loading principle as cabinet lor
  10. hehe..no lah..i scared mah..i read somewhere dunno someone genna complain by neighbour below because the neighbour's ceiling genna cracks...and hdb went to investigate and realise the loading caused it.... the poor guy had to pay fine and sell away his tank...so if building a big tank..better get *talisman* from hdb first..lol
  11. hehe...but then i want to have the joy of seeing coraline algae creep up...not buy those totally encrusted ones leh...hehe...coz i am sure my coralfarm tonga branches can seed off the other rocks... besides, i dun want to pay too much for rocks already, wait family think i siao paying so much for stones...hehe
  12. do you think its easy to get the approval ah...just type a letter..submit floor plan to them hor...dunno must wait how long to be approved...lol actually even thinking of doing up to 8ft...but the need for permit makes me shrug...
  13. transfering some from my current 4 foot...as u can see really too much rocks liao....and getting some from bro joe_p so not getting those uncured ones lor....
  14. well, not every single one supports lah...for one i know sure sian 1/2 is my maid...means lots of things i need her to do...lol well, the supportive ones offer financial or physical help (my gf pouring sand)....the non supportive ones...never say anything anyway...this time round my back wun break coz i wun spend time plucking algae and getting rid of crabs and mantis shrimps...did too much work for my 4ft....
  15. bwilly bro: anymore bulk order for DT? hehe
  16. not good life lah...u win some...u lose some... yeah...i was thinking about the local reef relief...but after considering, i'd go with something that has been tried and tested all over the world for years...no disrespect to reef relief of coz...i have a "fetish" for european stuff.... my 4 ft tank too congested with rocks liao...will move some over to the 6 foot...must share share...getting some from bro joe_p also..
  17. yeah lor.....but i using this return mah.... changes to the drawing....only 1 drainage durso on each overflow box....tankmaker says 2 durso pipes enough to handle...
  18. i want a good balance of electrical savings and power....iwakis are too power hungry... i looking at eheim or those pond pumps lor..hehe
  19. will cost less lah...hehe.. anyway, no bros or sis here got any lobangs on laguna pumps ah...i remember reading a thread somewhere....but it say superstar have and a pasir ris farm have... dunno where is superstar and dunno which farm..
  20. need to get it up by chinese new year mah.... so..with all the cycling...just nice....but probably getting cured rocks this time, so cycling cut short even more

  22. yeah....met him this afternoon before i went off in the evening for some stuff...well, as his loyal customer, my tank will be here soon, opting for a full cabinet setup this time....dun wanna risk with metal liao...and also to give uniform loading to the floor.
  23. yeah..to be more accurate..cheques in hand...hehe
  24. Tentative List of Equipment: Eheim 1264 (if available) as return pump or Laguna series Pump.... AquaC Ev240 powered by Eheim 1262 or Laguna Series Pump again 3x150W 10KK MH (DIY) Tank is 2 foot deep...dun wanna go full 3 x 250W Teco 680 Chiller 3x54W T5 lights for the refugium Tunze Streams...maybe use my TS7 or get another non programmable stream at the other end... and..what have i left out...
