removed some rocks from 4ft and brought over to 6ft... meanwhile testing the ups on eheim 1262...let it run on the battery...already 2 hours....battery level on the UPS is 2/5 bar.... i estimate it should stop before the 3 hour mark....

going by that reasoning..we should all stock up on photosynthetic corals so that nitrate reduction is significant from the symbiotic algae in the corals....

yes...nitrate is nitrate...but clams are not an efficient in nitrate removal

skimmer still foaming.but nothing collect yet...lol now the level drop abit...i fully open the gate valve..maybe end of this week then start to close it little by little and set the final level

dunno how long...must see water parameters mah..shouldnt be too long lah..all cured rocks... yeah...the skimmer really like a washing machine..

just dump all the spare rocks in the tank...will transfer some rocks from 4ft over... now look like an african cichlid tank..lol

actually my new cabinet was designed for ev400..afterall..the jump in price from ev240 to ev400 isnt a great deal..but edmund can only bring it in 3 to 4 weeks time whereas he has an ev240 on hand...so make do lor..hehe ev 240 is about 20plus inches...ev400 about 30plus inches....lots of cabinet height clearance required.... anyway, i think the seachem clarity is pushing the skimmer to work already....just a few minutes since the last post..u take a look...my gatevalve fully open liao....jialat. .any minute will pour out into the cup liao

yeah..quite large the ev240..hehe anyway, i dosed some seachem clarity and POOOFFF....all the foam came out..lol

i used the nitrite before..its under my 4ft thread.... u can see the colour change in there too.. not too bad in my opinion....since nitrite usually test only when starting a tank..should be good enough for its price

yeah..breaking in..but no foaming unlike the weipro 2014..thus me panick..hehe ok..will let the water level be there first.. i make it 1.021 currently... got one time the watever level almost covered the fitting...thus i put an airtube there now to prevent water from entering into that hole..lol.. i seriously know nutz about this skimmer..hope bro yazid share his light with me

another thing to note when getting an inverter is that u must make sure the output of the inverter when it uses battery power is sufficient for your pump or equipment...many inverters supply 230V when using mains supply..but when switchover to battery backup..output voltage is around 210-220...never hit the peak of the mains supply... and if your pump is for 230V operation, then will have some problems..just take note

i saw a good true sine wave inverter in sim lim tower...its the cotek brand..metallic blue casing...damn cool looking...rated about 600W continuous pure sine wave output...about 400plus SGD.... another brand...Geni@s Pow#r....they have a pure sine wave version also...highest wattage about 300W continuous, 1000W peak surge output....it is good enough for lights and other use...but don't waste your time trying it on your expensive pumps like eheim pump for long period of time....cannot tahan...my personal opinion... anyway, singapore power seldom lose power also lah...its just kiasu safeguard
