  2. my cleaner shrimp this morning...
  3. only 1 theory behind it my bro... cut costs...hehe
  4. blueplus is just blue..like this
  5. yeah....it is like a temporary reserve of electricity...actually they are charged plates...lets say the mains has some tiny fluctuations in supply....the capacitor still would provide the appliance a steady flow of electricity...hehe dunno lah..but thats what i think...
  6. there is no quick method...just maintain good water parameters, high calcium and KH levels and it will grow steadily
  7. for normal use...the atmans should be fine..but if you need it to push water to a height....eheims at a lower flow rating might push more water than the atmans generally... but at a much lower price..if the atmans can fufil your usage expectations..then by all means go for it...no point being too hard on your wallet also..hehe
  8. some can keep them long term.....i can only keep them for a few months at most...then they turn white..hehe
  9. it is a german brand like eheim..but i believe what we are talking here are the models called stream....it is actually something like a powerhead..but instead of water outlet through a narrow path that powerhead does, the stream provides high flow, gentle conical path..... can get it from our sponsor eaquanature.com
  10. 3 aquablues lor.. or 2 aquablues and 1 actinic blue or blueplus
  11. hi bro.. get from many places mentioned here in the forum....how much ah...quite a sum...hehe...
  12. maybe there's this appliance that you want to turn on from 8 to 10 am on mondays....and then 5 to 7pm on mondays also...but then 6 to 8 on tuesdays and then 9 to 10am on wednesday and so on...so the programming can be done lor.. lets say monday you usually come home late...u want certain appliance to be on from the moment u step into the house..so u can make use of such modes lor...mondays come home late...tuesday come home early...wednesday come home late again....blablablah..hehe
  13. think u have to use a few timers lor...whatever things u connect to one timer...will turn all on or all off with the timer's settings
  14. but i used to think weipro was good enough until i saw this...the foam produced is really different category...like u say..you get what you pay....generally lah... it may not be the best skimmer out there for sure...but i am sure it did play a part in my low low nitrates...taking out all the junk before they got a chance to turn into nitrates......even if they escape the skimer..i got my macroalgae or even to a lesser extent, clams to reduce the nitrates..hehe
  15. just keep it to the water level as stated in the manual and everything should be fine
  16. not at all bro....just set the water level at the manufacturer's recommended level..tats all..hehe... but i do noticed that the kind of foam from this skimmer is different from my weipro days....much foamier...like those washing machine foam or even better..hehe
  17. my skimmer today...will clean the foam tower tomorrow
  18. i have 2 that actually show the seconds as well..hehe anyway, i always prefer the electronic ones
  19. a very bad condition black maxima ....mantles torn...hope it recovers in my tank....now putting in my 4ft tank under gentle 2x54W aquablue plus T5s at about 10 inches under the lamps...will move to the 6ft sump tomorrow... i wonder how fast will the mantle recover
  20. nice..i always like electronic timers
  21. i think so....but always be safe..bring abit more cash when u know its going to be an LFS shopping day...hehe
  22. better dun use future money lah..wait end up selling furniture and land up only the tank in the house...hehehe anyway, having more payment options like NETs or credit cards give more flexibility...especially sometimes when we wanna buy stuff in hundreds and may not have enough cash with us
  23. better only if you are keeping sps or clams or have a high tank height...otherwise..T5s, many of them, will do well for most other corals also
