increase in water circulation esp at the surface will help break up the oil into smaller oil molecules and allow more oxygen infusion.... what is your main filtration method? no canister filter also? just the skimmer and DSB ah...then quite hard to get rid of the oil... if using canister can at least put a surface skimmer.... best is still overflow compartment or overflow box for marine tanks...

yeah..as long as its still eating...can still try to feed them a wide variety of food to build up their strength....a non feeding AT is considered a dead AT already...hehe but 3 days is a very fast time to fight off ich...but beware that the ich may regroup and come back again and again to weaken the beautiful AT...hehe but your tank seems good enough from sight...the parameters should be good too....so just keep up the good work and let us admire more pics of your AT from time to time

yeah...ATs are very nice...but one of the thinnest skinned tangs around...as long as they can fight off some initial ich, should be very fufilling keeping them

usually there shouldnt be any oily surface as your tank should be turbulent enough to get rid of the surface oil especially if you have an overflow system

yeah..thats why i think before the dissolved organics got chance to break down...all genna skimmed up liao.. coz in perfect situation....4850l/hr divided by tank volume about 600l.....about 8 times per hour... hehehe.....but of coz due to hose and injector pressure losses, the turnover should be less lor....but still highly efficient in my opinion.. so far i only saw the utility 5...it's at the shop in downtown east....go check it out

er..think i just posted.. laguna utility 5 pump.. 4850l/hr at zero head using 55w..... but once pushing at height, lose a lot of flow....not suitable for a return pump in my opinion... but the wattage consumption quite attractive..hehe if using the flowrate/tank volume ratio, the skimmer would have process the whole water volume about 8 times every hour....

and also try to test your PH in both tanks to ensure they match...otherwise when u transfer the fish over...can genna PH shock
