  2. yeah..read about it in reefcentral.. seems to affect mostly maximas.... i always freshwater clean my clams before putting in....so far ok lah....but like u say..never know when disaster strikes.... quarantine is the way to go

  9. yeah man..at least your avatars are different...LOL
  10. actually can lah...but i dun know where exactly the final water level will be due to variations like the return pump and other factors...at least if i use this method..i can vary the length of pipe and joints to ensure not much water flow back in power outage.....i dun want to use a one way valve as it will take out alot of flow from the powerhead.... so if i use the method like u said, when power fails, quite alot of water will flow back into the sump which i do not want...at least with this overhead return method, abit unsightly, but at least i can vary the height of the return outlet to determine when the siphon break will occur....hehe
  11. i also have some to give away....can PM me, will give priority to bros whom i know more.....hehehe..sorry to hijack abit bro rumour..hehe
  12. bro kee: its a ricordia..hehe.... a ricordia YUMA....not ricordia florida...as u mentioned
  13. normal..dun worry....they have this thing at night or dark
  14. http://www.sgreefclub.com/forum/index.php?...opic=7509&st=15 here it is....the best is that you go to HDB website and search for tank in the search box....then u get the whole guide about this.... coz this fish tank thing is very subjective...remember in the luohan days when people can have a few fish tanks in the hall or room.... even though those tanks may be 3ft or 4ft...their combined weight also exceeded 600kg....but the main thing is...dun genna complain by the neighbour below of cracks on their ceilings..hehe anyway, i tot you were deepblue...you will cause cases of identity mixup leh...LOL....hehehe
  15. yeah... its best you apply for the application for installation for heavy equipment from HDB... but most people never...coz most people, even staff in HDB area offices, regard fish tanks as a piece of furniture.... if you scared, just keep your tank within 6x2x2 or 6x1.5x1.5...then will not be as heavy as those 2.5 or 3ft height tanks....since you add water in length of the tank..u can reduce it by the height of the tank there are many technicalities involved, they will tell you to put the tank against the wall...not in the center of the room or as a divider...and you are advised not to put in the balcony as the loading strength of the balcony is not as strong.... i see if i can find the related article in my tank threads
  16. hehe..ok.... cant wait for the cookies..think i will finish them before chinese new year
  17. haha... but the audi a8 with space aluminium chasis frame still is quite unique hor.... okok...so who going LFS to pasir ris again tomorrow...lol

  19. the new a4 convertible also very nice...also looks like the audi TT from some angles..hehe
  20. not much lah...the clam tank is just a 2ft by 2ft base with 1 ft in height.... my skimmer can skim till 300gallons.... so...i think i havent even hit 200 gallons or maybe just slight over 200gallons by now...
  21. no bro...i will pump water from one part of my current sump tank to the clam tank and the clam tank drains to the other side of the sump tank...so my sump tank is like supplying water to both tanks..hehe
  22. wanted to, but gf told me to wait for her and set it up together with her tomorrow, she dun want to miss out on the fun and action...lol now with the slow flow of the clam tank..i can also put seahorses and pipe fishes..heheh
