  1. actually most tangs are primarily herbivores...by changing their long term diet...not very good....my personal opinion lah... of coz in the short run to fatten them up is good....but to alter their natural feeding styles, i am not really for it
  2. yeah..just like the baby powder last time...sigh... my quarantine tank's water parameters may be worse than the current system, put in quarantine there wait no ich also get ich coz lousier water conditions... but once got white spot....i can catch it out easily....wun put in main tank till a couple of weeks... saw him eating some ulva already...but not enough to sustain his body mass i feel...
  3. day 3: no signs of white spot...yet...i think will come soon...up to him to fight it off
  4. same also...u also wun want to put a fish into your main tank knowing its not eating at all after a few days---->high probability will die

  6. the fence was made to prevent my black tang from pecking the clams yeah...i tend to put new fish in it...so that i can take out easily if i have to...u do not want to catch a fish in the main tank

  10. from Preef, not nice to put price here day2: more adventurous, starting to roam
  11. really hope your black tang gets rid of the spots...i know you have been very patient in trying to get a good specimen....
  12. yeah...very true ok lah..let's move on...all technical discussions have more or less been presented, let those who want to get this skimmer or any skimmer consider these technical points as well as your personal experience before making a choice
  13. hmm...if i had used a weipro on a previous 6ft tank with sps/lps with considerable fish load and had great results just like your previous 6ft tank.. probably i would be able to understand your point of view better...but from various technical/physical perspectives, i am just trying to say that this skimmer has inherent limitations, primarily of the size, and want other bros here to consider all the good points of this skimmer from you...as well as the minus points of the skimmer from me and other bros before buying it.... we are not saying your skimmer is lousy and you made a bad choice, thus you need not vehemently defend the skimmer that it served your 6ft to a dream.... it suited your style of reefing to a dream, but not everyone can follow your good reefing habits/style and thus they should consider if they are getting this skimmer or any other skimmer... just like other skimmers may be technically superior, but they tend to consume huge amounts of electricity, that itself is a major minus point also...
  14. no lah...i have succumbed to your strong positive views of the RSB classic and getting a redsea berlin XL with turbo upgrade soon...very soon precisely you have a big tank with large water volume which is more accomodating to stocking rate plus your great patience plus your powerful berlin classic....you will do well, no doubt about that...in your self imposed time frame....but no everyone has patience, a great tank and a great skimmer like yours but since the volume is so huge and the skimmer is so powerful, i hope to see a whole school of about 80-90 anthias with about 10 or more med adult tangs in a years time by proportion but oops...that's not your kind of reef hor.....paiseh not everyone is fish crazy like me but seriously, do you have any objective technical plus points about the RSB classic to add? so far i have only provided the technical minus points while agreeing with the triple-pass plus point...
  15. if it makes it...may consider doing up a dedicated tank for it
