April 16 tank update: awaiting the arrival of the AT from the holding 4ft tank....will do the transfer anytime from tonight to weekend if i feel confident enough
-
is that the f828? great colours...seems that the emerald/cyan addition does improve colour response, even better for reef photography if it's not the f828, which model is it?
-
steady.... in that case the 1hp can really keep penguins liao...hehe
-
in short... can we conclude that weight to weight, contraphos/rowaphos absorbs more phosphates than biophos2? Contraphos Aquaconnect 49,90 € 1000 ml 0.046 mg 0.954 mg BioPhos II Korallenzucht 29,00 € 1000 ml 0.34 mg 0.66 mg if so, if biophos2 is cheaper than contraphos/rowaphos by an equivalent proportion, then it's worth it.. otherwise, its better to pay slightly more for contraphos/rowaphos

yeah... and when the owner goes to a petrol station... u get a pumping xenia right?
-
mine also no such problems even without white tape, if really a big problem..just bring back to SL lor...
-
must see how... once i see my RA680 working nonstop and yet cannot sustain my 27degree set temperature then i have to get 1hp liao... buying a 1hp chiller or 1/2hp chiller not much difference in price...but the running cost higher... i rather have the 1/2 hp running longer than the 1hp and yet save more electricity overall
-
wah liew... dun anyhow say such things...wait genna kidnapped tomorrow...lol.. please lah..far from rich....just doing ok and willing to spend should the need arises wait hot months coming, my chiller cannot take it also bo bian....but so far still can tahan...havent heard any screaming nuts and bolts from the chiller yet
-
haha... wanna keep salmon liao....anytime wanna eat sushi...net out and slice raw...LOL... no lah..must consider liao mah...hot months ahead.... if my teco breaks under pressure, then have to consider artica liao....
-
actually sometimes i think of it..the money we pay for a good chiller, can buy a very nice computerised big refrigerator liao hor....
-
not sure leh.... u pm bro maxima, he may have a clearer idea of the 1hp
-
aiyo...then you better keep in hand a 1hp unit for me in case i need to make the jump in the hotter months to come....got stock? teco too expensive liao...think they know they around for sometime and have a reputation so they 吊起来卖 artica artica artica...here i come....hehehe
-
hehe... now can tell hon and his wife to stand in front of the artica exhaust fan to dry hair liao....save more electricity and can gently open up ###### pores prior to cleansing and toning instead of those steaming facials but seriously, i am glad to see this chiller around....if i am not wrong, bro blenny had been looking for it also...wonder has he gotten his....if not...maybe you can link up with him
-
should have no problems lah.... afterall, can get aftersales service readily one mah.. if i want to upgrade my chiller, will also try the artica 1hp if the price isn't too far off from a teco RA2000...hehe worth a try, teco has been so long around with a reasonable reputation that is boring already, time for more competitors to enter the market... artica seems like a good bet
-
actually i had the thought of stripping the black cover of my teco as well and then blow the fan directly at the chiller internals itself... but i remember last time during thermodynamics labwork, i had to read off temperature and humidity readings off different parts of the aircon unit, from the compressor, condensor, evaporator....and so on...and actually there is a need for the hot parts to be hot and cool parts to be cool....the specifics i forget liao...i am sure some bros here will remember.... so by blowing indiscriminately at the internals...i may be affecting the process also... so i guess the best way is to improve cold air draw into the chiller and improve hot exhaust air out of the chiller.... or, just get a higher hp chiller
-
but must make sure the blow direction isn't recirculating the hot exhaust air back to the air intake of the chiller... direct it in a way that the hot air is blown as far as possible...hehe
-
ya max, i also suggest that the bathroom be ventilated as much as possible to prevent the exhaust temperature from affecting the airdraw input as much as possible... i suggest him to put those bathroom exhaust fan at the small window to blow air out of the bathroom....just like what you suggest using the air duct to blow the hot air out....i think this will reduce runtime as well as maximise cooling per unit time due to a better temperature differential.... as the fan will blow warm air out and yet draw in cooler air from the house interior... i think the fan at the window panel might be more tidylooking for hon than the airduct coil...hehe hehe....just a theoretical suggestion, dunno if really works in practical applications or not.... PS: ooops....bro hon told me he has got an exhaust fan liao...hehehe...8 to 10inch fan at the window....but i told him not enough...must get one as big as the window panel itself
-
in that case the chiller will not be in operation when your aircon is in use... but when u are out...say during june/july when temperature soars....at least having a chiller will prevent the temperature from going too high when you are not around.... there will be more complications if your chiller has a heating function that will fight against your aircon when u are at home...but we shall not go into that for now...hehe
-
actually if u know how to DIY, u can follow alvy and make a DIY chiller that will eventually look something like this kind of residential home aircon compressor units also imagine saying ...the chiller brand is DAIKIN, or SANYO, NATIONAL? but for those who do not want to DIY, this artica will do the same, but for a much higher price than you DIY of coz but saves you the time, the risks and the dangers of DIY
-
-
hon, but i am sure u will get more out of the chiller if you place it in a more ventilated place other than a bathroom....coz when the chiller starts working, the bathroom gets warmer and warmer and the efficiency of cooling will start to fall... chiller works best when the air intake temperature and the air exhaust temperature are of a large temperature gradient...... i think
-
ah...tat looks nice 1hp ah
-
-
hehe...i bought not all for myself ..passed them on to other frens and reefers here i have just a small number left for my own usage.....dun worry, they will bring in regularly i think the next batch will be snapped up fast also....so when bro eaquarist release the shipment info, act fast.... the rules of engagement....ooops..reservation have already been stated clearly... so act fast, dun dilly dally and then complain why they bring in so little...................... you have been forewarned
-
ah..... now i know why i threw away the whole large round packet of nori last time when i was unsuccessful feeding them to my tangs....coz after a couple of pulls of the long nori, they gave up... those long pieces indeed have a plastic and elastic kind of texture and consistency....no wonder nori did not catch on with my tangs... ok...will shred them with a food shredder to bits before trying again soon....thanks AT
