  1. tat time bwilly came over some time back...only got yellow tang and sailfin tang i think.... i think he already noted the yellow tang quite fat and heong liao...now still the same...hehe
  2. you will be surprised bro... the yellow tang is about half the size of the AT, about 3/4 the size of the desjardini... but it's the fiercest you know...coz.... it was the first tang in the system....
  3. yeah lor..tats actually wat i want...for the flow to crash around center... i dun want to scape somemore with more rocks liao...wait less space for the fishes to swim....hehe...i like the 2 sides to be rock walls...center more open for swimming....
  4. the greatest bully of all in my tank
  5. actually coz i put more corals on the center portion, so i somehow push the sand around to help position the corals better...end up the sand layer genna spread thinner and thinner also...
  6. yeah lor...my sand swing left and right gradually until the left and right ends of the tank very high sand...then towards the center botak...lol.... i going to put more sand towards the center....coz i started with only about 2 inch of size 0 sand evenly across the sand bottom
  7. last time when i bought the f717 at the shop, immediately ask for lousy hoya uv filter to screw on the thread to protect the lens..but i did notice that there is a small gap on the filter itself..probably to equalise the temperature so that will not get condensation easily and end up screwing out the filter again.... now using the v1, cannot mount those kind of filters to protect..hehe back to your pork chops, i think guys like you make great husbands man.... know how to cook especially when gotta take care of yourself when overseas... *respect* not forgetting bwilly and his bakery skills also....
  8. yum yum..u make me hungry now hehe i am sure you put some protective lens filter in front of the camera right? otherwise a stray sizzle of oil jump to the lens...then heart pain liao, must protect the great camera
  9. very nice corals NAx0 realised that we are using the same background colour for our tanks glad to see you all the way from spain
  10. oic...something to learn again means with auto car, really just let go the accelerator, dun brake and hold on the steering tightly and dun overcorrect any pulling hor... gee, so even though heng i never bang my own uncle, i under quite a bit of shock also...and heng somehow all the cars behind managed to stop...only the kancil couldn't avoid despite slowing down..probably he braked also but aquaplaned to impact....heng it happened at a spot on the NS highway where drivers at that very moment happened to keep a very safe distance from each other prior the accident i have seen heavy rains in singapore and some drivers also tailgate others..this is what i call tempting fate but then hor, after the standstill, as the vehicles start moving off again....from stationary to moving the car slowly as i approach the puddle...i can feel a very heavy resistance and pulling on the steering even as i held the steering tight.... imagine a 70-80km/hr speed and then you hit such a puddle in shock.... we can discuss in theory and now tell ourselves never to brake when such things happen.. but in reality...when the real thing happens and all it takes is milliseconds for your instinct to take over instead of your logical mind and you may end up choosing to brake also... so, singapore puddles not as deep as that one we encountered, but i guess everytime in such a downpour...not only we must start to drive slowly, but also keep drumming to ourselves that do not brake do not brake and hold steering tight, so that when it actually happens when you least expect it, perhaps you will indeed not brake because of what you have been repeating in your mind again instead letting your instinct to brake take over ..hehe must hypnotise ourselves not to brake...otherwise the leg automatically goes for the brake pedal whenever crisis strikes.. actually a few times i wanted to tell him directly that what he did was wrong, but he already driving before i was born, so i only hinted to him later on that maybe can try not to brake *so hard* next time..hehe i think he know he shouldnt have braked after recollecting what happened, but like i said, i think his instinct took over and just braked too hard...
  11. hmm...down shift the car in manual mode...utilise engine brake.. does that mean with auto transmission, we can try pressing the OD button on the gear stick also and force it into 3rd gear for a 4speed auto transmission? would be the same as downshifting with a manual transmission right?
  12. yeah lor....i nearly wanted to jump into his tank and kiss his AT when i saw it then i realised that i would cause a huge displacement and leave his sps high and dry, so decided against it....
  13. bro: u can also try those neighbourhood chinese grocery shop or medicinal halls, ask for seaweed for boiling soup, unseasoned one...they will get you wat you want
  14. yeah..just dun buy those flavoured ones that we use to snack... those are meant to make us eat until fat fat...not for the tangs to eat fat fat.... tangs eat unseasoned nori
  15. wah...then my AT must be XXXXL obese size... must send for slimming liao...if not other tangs ostracise him... then again...most of my tangs are pretty obese... fat tangs club...hehe... no wonder my black tang was ostracised, too slim liao
  16. yes terry, if i am not wrong, scopas tang is brown tang
  17. so far i got no tangs from rebo@n... but bro hon has his AT from there and it's beautiful and was the impetus for weileong to get an AT my tangs are from CF, ML, PReef but what AP is doing is right...start off with the hardier tangs first...gain more confidence before getting the more sensitive tangs
  18. terry is right... whether ozone or uv is indeed useful is really hard to quantify the effects....if we see fishes improving from ich or no ich at all, it could be due to other effects not solely due to the equipment, could be the fish managed to get an aquired immunity...too many factors to consider really... yeah..AP's tangs are not having ich, probably from the good equipment and good advice she has from frens like storm and sailfin, who keep exotic tangs as well. perhaps we can ask AP to get storm and sailfin to share more indepth experience with tang keeping with all of us here. I am sure they will be willing to share and contribute more towards such issues that will benefit this thread for all tang lovers
  19. in theory what john say is true... coz every time you add a coral into an established tank even, there is a low likelihood that some stage of the ich has latched on the coral.... unlikely, but there is still a slim chance of the coral bringing in ich... so for new setups with a patient reefer, this could a an effective way to minimise the possibility of an outbreak
  20. generally i think with such levels, water change will be the cheapest. fastest and most effective method than expensive nitrate reducing medias or chemicals.... personal opinion
