i really feel sorry for beckham...sigh... England manager Sven Goran Eriksson said England's dramatic 6-5 penalty shootout quarter-final defeat was 'very hard' to take after watching his team succumb to the coolest of conversions by Portugal goalkeeper Alexandre Ricardo. Michael Owen: England marksman (LawrenceGriffiths/GettyImages) Ricardo stepped up to send the decisive spot-kick past David James and bring an end to a dramatic shootout in which David Beckham and Rui Costa both fired efforts over the bar. England took a third-minute lead through Michael Owen, only for a late strike from Portugal substitute Helder Postiga to level the scores. Sol Campbell then had what looked a good 90th-minute goal ruled out for pushing. Rui Costa fired Portugal in front in extra time, but Frank Lampard saved the day with five minutes remaining to force the penalty climax, during which several players seemed to have a problem with the state of the penalty spot. 'We were not lucky with some things, but that's football,' Eriksson said afterwards. 'The spirit has been fantastic, but losing this way is very hard.' 'I don't want to comment on the referee. From the bench it [the Campbell effort] looked all right - I haven't seen it on television, but the referee said it was a push and he decides. To lose on penalties is very hard.' The England boss said he had twice complained twice about the state of the the penalty spot - which appeared to cut up badly - before the game. Beckham skied his kick after apparently slipping. 'Before both games at this stadium, I complained personally to a UEFA person about the penalty spot. We trained on it and the grass went away,' he said. 'Yesterday, again we took it up - UEFA said they would put in a new one. Beckham, I think he slipped with his foot, unfortunately. Football is like this -when you go to penalties, it is skill but it is also a lottery.' He added: 'We knew Portugal are extremely good in possession, but I still think we created more chances. With a bit of luck we could have been 2-0 up at half-time. 'Technically, Portugal are a really good side. They had some shots, but not very much inside the box.' sigh....i hope tonight will not be a tragedy for france... i hope can safely put 1k and win 400bucks from the 1.4 payoff...should be a safe bet....unless suay suay draw aiya...dun bet liao lah....buy other stuff pamper myself better now i think the best finals match up will be france vs holland already

thanks jc... i think they are now favourites to win the championship...full 9pts..but then again, when everyone thinks they will sail to the finals...who knows? they may get knocked out the next round....that's the wonder of football... dunno what's gonna happen next...this euro is entertaining sia.... but seriously, the dutch deserves to go through more than the germans... as for betting wise, i learnt not to bet too many games...just pick a few *weird* games....like portugal vs unfancied greeks in the opening game and yesterday's german who have to win vs the 2nd stringers czech....may lose of coz.....but if win, the odds are are good... but i missed the sweden vs denmark bet....should have bet on draw since everyone talking about it....but i did not...a wasted chance..hehe.... never mind..dun be greedy....that's why tonight not betting most probably...wait for the next *weird* matchup...

Germany tumbled out of Euro 2004 in ignominious fashion as the Czech Republic reinforced their credentials as one of the tournament's potential champions with a 2-1 win. The Czechs triumphed despite playing a second-string side and though the Germans may curse their luck, they paid the price for defensive weakness and failing to take their chances. Liverpool's Milan Baros proved the eventual matchwinner, using his pace to devastating effect after coming off the bench and ensuring that the Czechs finished the group stage as the only side with a 100% record. Germany, despite Michael Ballack opening the scoring with a sensational volley, were second best in the first half - Marek Heinz's equaliser pulling the Czechs level - and even when desperation sent them charging forward in the second half, they could not find the finish. With top spot in Group D already secure, the Czechs' pragmatic head coach Karel Bruckner left most of his senior players on the bench, with only Tomas Galasek and Martin Jiranek present from the side which won so thrillingly against Holland. The Germans had cause to be grateful but the incoming Czechs were clearly eager to impress and it was they who threatened first. Vratislav Lokvenc nipped in to meet Heinz's free-kick and when the ball span up in the six-yard box Martin Jiranek forced a close-range save out of Oliver Kahn. The direct running and close control of Monaco's Jaroslav Plasil and the quick feet and probing passes of Heinz, playing in the Rooney role just off the front man, kept Germany on the back-foot for the opening 20 minutes, but then Ballack's class came to the fore. David Rozehnal deflected one goalbound effort from Ballack over the crossbar but that just delayed the opening goal. Bastian Schweinsteiger, Germany's own teenage `wunderkind', provided an inviting lay-off and Ballack, from just inside the area, crashed a blistering shot into the top corner with the outside of his left-foot. The goal looked to have given Germany momentum, as Bernd Schneider tried to build on the advantage and stung Jaromir Blazek's fingers with a low drive, but Rudi Voller's side then suffered a setback as Heinz struck a magnificent 20-yard free-kick, curling it with his left foot beyond the grasping reach of Kahn to equalise. Heinz was the top scorer in the Czech league last season for Banik Ostrava, having had three frustrating seasons in Germany with Hamburg, but on this evidence it won't be long before another big team signs him. Germany, with news of Holland's lead filtering through, tried to up the tempo and though the Czech defence looked vulnerable, the sides were still level at the break, with Kahn even having to make a smart save to deny Lokvenc just before the half-time whistle. Tomas Hubschman replaced Galasek in central midfield for the second half and was immediately in the thick of the action, hitting a wonderful cross from the left and the lanky Lokvenc seemed destined to score - only for Kahn to make a superb block. Germany's urgency increased and Schneider forced Blazek into a tip-over, then Ballack directed a free header from 15 yards straight into the goalkeeper's arms. With a little over half-an-hour of the game to go, Baros came on for the injured Lokvenc - perhaps just what the Germans could have done without - but with Heinz and Plasil dropping out of the game the Liverpool striker struggled at first for service. Meanwhile, Ballack drilled a shot a yard wide, then Kevin Kuranyi was inches away from making decisive contact with Schneider's cross. Philipp Lahm's raids down the left had started to pay dividends and Germany so nearly cashed in when Ballack turned beautifully on the edge of the area and shot, only to see the ball cannon off the foot of the post. Schneider should have scored with the follow-up but he lofted his effort, giving Blazek time to recover and stab it clear. The pressure on the Czech goal intensified as Kuranyi was blocked, then Schneider headed over from 10 yards, followed by an amazing scramble when Hubschman headed off the line and Blazek kept out the point-blank range follow-up. But with so much forward pressure, the gaps started appear at the back for Germany and Baros took full advantage in the 77th minute. He went on a powerful run through the heart of the defence, holding off Christian Worns, and although Kahn saved his first shot the ball fell fortunately for the 22-year-old to roll it into an empty net and send Germany packing.

i am not too sure about LTA rules on modification.. i think cosmetic bodykit additions should be ok, but to modify those mechanical parts may not be allowed... actually the simple act of changing the headlamps colour temperature also cannot....unless it came from factory as default... so those guys who change their normal orangey looking bulbs to whitish blue ones are not supposed to do so but like some say, by right cannot, by left just do it as long don't get caught...
-
i still remember years back when the 850R was their best perfomance car, but it still have sharp edges and a box shape...although much nicer than the 940s and 960s then it wow me with the metallic orange convertible c60 if i do not get the model wrong....their first open top convertible...hehe but seriously i think saab is really under represented here for a such a good creditble car....somehow not many people are going for it...
-
yeah... that would be a very cool car to have... the mercedes seem alittle too chinese towkay look ... the beemers seem a litttle too yuppy flashy kind... the volvo seems to have a niche in my heart....not too conservative with its new non-boxy styling compared to the past *phew*, not too flashy, just a nice executive feel to it... not to mention having a monster engine under the boot to blow the japanese rice rockets away actually i not greedy lah, i will be happy with a normal s60 or s80 anytime
-
actually for continental cars, i have a softspot for volvo.... a little break away from the mainstream continentals like mercedes, BMW... previously they look totally boxy, at least now look slightly better... anyway my eyesight must be quite bad, coz i always cant differentiate the s60 and s80 from far, especially from the rear...hehe the s80 seems like a macdonald's UPSIZE of the the s60

nice... dun make me drool... i will make a comeback you know i have done it before... and i can do it again
