Dropping to 1.009 is it the same as 14ppt? 3. You mean if after for eg 25 days and on day 26 i check and saw it went up to 16ppt i have to start all over from Day 0??? 4. All refractometer read in PPT or SG or both? 5. Does PPT and SG has any relationship?? My PH drop to 7.9 from 8.4. Funny but my KH maintain at 12. NH3 0 NO2 0 NO3 going up to 40.... 6. Anyway to drop KH??? Thanks again.... My Teardrop pass away this morning after refuse to eat for 2mths. I don't think it is due to white spot cos he dun have. The rest is still alrite and eating.

bro seamonkee! Need to seek your advise...i am using hyposalinity for 2 weeks liao...it seems the white spot are still very visible. Normally how long before the spot start to drop and improve??? I heard some forumer say within 1 week it should go off...else it is not working. Another 5 weeks is merely to starve any possible new one from forming. is it true? please help Thanks

But funny thing is their appetite is very good....better then before. they even follow me when i walk near to the tank. Bro, have you tried hyposalinity treatment before??? Is it very very critical to maintain at 1.009?? I think my glass base hydrometer look around the range of 1.009 to 1.010...

hi bros... I am using salinity treatment....currently into 13 days. My PBT looks fine...eating greedily....though colour fade abit...the spots no longer that visible but the skin looks uneven...i dunno how to describe. But PBT needs big tank to swim.....

Thanks bro..... I will try to get a refractometer. KH maintain at 10 - 11 and PH was quite stable at 8.4 I did feed them will garlic pellet. Other them lots of little white spot and colour fade due to low salinity. They all look fines.... Any bros with experience using this treatment could you let me know how long it will take for the spots to go away. Thanks

I am currently keeping FOWLR....i realise one of my recent purchase fm a non reliable source - PBT got white spot...and it has spread to my blue tang and purple tang.... Decide to use hyposalinity to treat my main tank once and for all. Drop my salinity over few days to 1.009 (using glass type hydrometer) Now into 11days, all the fishes are doing fine and eating greedily.... Temp constant at 28 to 29. KH maintain at 10 -12 PH - 8.3 to 8.4 But i realise after so many days....the white stop still very visible....didn't seems to improve. Like to check with all bros it actually took how many days before it take effect.... Or any things that i overlook? I read in many articles that it seems the lck will die after a few days.... the remaining 6 weeks is to clear away all potential tormonts..... Hope to get some feedback Thanks

He has been with me for more than a week..... Is there anything wrong with the water or they take longer time to settle down? He is not eating much also.... I bought a salfin few days ago yet he has oreadi settle down, swimming happily and gobble up foods. Is there anyway to "spiceup" my majestic to make him less shy? Thanks

AT and cyclop! Thank you for your valuable expertise feedback! My majestic is still quite shy. Most of the time, he hide behind the dead coral. Eat a bit. Really not much. Only come out when i turn on the light. Saw human movement near, he will hid in again. Do you think he gonna make it? Salfin is settling well fast. Though he came later, he is eating like mad. gobbling up the food. The rest is also settling well fine..... Another question, can i add live rock in slowly from now on....say 3-4 kg every few days? Will it cos another ammonia spike? Or Can i put it in the sump tank instead? The LFS say useless to put LR in sump tank.
