Yes, money make d world go round.....& our heads spin round n round!!!!! In tis world ppl with lots of $$$$$$$ are very "rich" but not happy ppl. Those who slog n slog for more n more money are very "poor" chaps because they have no time to spend their $$$$$$$$. They become slaves of money. They dun get to see their $$$$$$$$ - all in the bank. When they r sick, worst still, they spend all their hard earned $$$$$$$$ to get well. Doctors and hospitals very happy - they get their $$$$$$$$. Then the sick "rich" man thinks, "How I wish I am healthy!!!!" But too late. He lies in bed, cannot see his $$$$$$$$, his family ppl wait for him to go to heaven faster so tat he's not a burden and they can spend his $$$$$$$$$ earlier. If lucky, the sick "rich" man dies faster - end of agony and regrets. In the end he still gets a lot of $$$$$$$$$ - Hell notes and paper money. Maybe, he dun even get them at all. The happiest people are those who have enough money to spend, enough to eat, buy simple things to enjoy (like Reefers), own a simple house, pay 4 chn's education and lead a simple life. Be happy with what you have and you'll always be happy. If we crave for what others have - we make ourselves miserable and unhappy. Of course, those who dun have money - must work harder for it and dun wait for god or other ppl to give you. Buy TOTO or Big Sweep for some HOPE. No HOPE, no point living!!!!

Girl Friend : More than one @ any given time
cyclop replied to minsmarine's topic in General Reefkeeping_
Sorry to interject when your are enjoying your cuppas. Having lots of girlfriend when you are single and still eligible is great. You should feel proud that so many girls like you and happy that you have so many to choose from. Once you have made you final choice, stop flinging around if you do not wish to mess up your life. You may fantasize, imagine, dream about having fun with someone else..... go ahead and have some "thrill" out of it. This. however, does not apply to those with a compelling reason to have a change - due to irreconciliable marital woes. -
A man having lots of girl friends is known as a Playboy - not too bad being a perceived as Playboy as it connotes glamour, high-living style, charisma, charming, high libido, manliness, cool, etc..........and quite an envy of other men. Women simply adore them because such a man has the skill of making women feel womenly and important - that's why they have lots of girlfriends. A girl having lots of boyfriends is considered as a being "loose", cheap, hot stuff, nympho, of low moral, and many other derogatory terms..........and more often than not, despised and looked down upon by other women. Men do not mind having a quick "fling" with her, nothing more. It certainly does not sound fair ...... but that's how and what people think, that's conventional thinking, that's LIFE.

Right!!!! and regardless of race, language or religion. There should not be any age barriers - old or young alike are Bros & Sisters. As Justiana is obviously having a great time posting in "KOPI-TIAM", I find it a very useful outlet to be able "talk nonsense" (not always, though), have fun & learn from others. Very good for reducing stress and let go steam too. As AT had mentioned "Anything goes!!!!!!"....... but remember not to go over board and hurt fellow reefers. Have fun!!!!!

The sponsor concerned should know what to do now to clear the air.

Our preferences have a lot to do with our individual "acquired taste". Many people prefer coffee from local coffeeshops because they had always been taking them. In fact, that's the coffee they had been enjoying since they started taking coffee. To them that's "coffee" anything else different is not acceptable to their taste buds. As a kid, I used to watch those people at coffeeshops roasting their coffee beans. They added lots of sugar (to blacken the coffee to make them thick and strong) I also observed that they also mixed jargon (maize) and "something else" with the coffee beans and roasted them together. I started with local coffeeshop coffee and had been enjoying it for a very long time. That was the only coffee I knew of then. Later I was introduced to Suzuki Coffee. They were sold in the form of coffee beans and in various varieties of blends like Sumatran Medhling, Mocha, Expresso, etc......... They were ground fresh and packed and sealed on the spot. I chanced upon the ground coffee at St Michaels and found them to be even better than suzuki coffee - paid more though. I still prefer them to coffeeshop coffee because of their coffee aroma and fragrance. The coffeeshop coffee only smells great when they are roasted - usually burnt black and with lots of smoke. Of course, I do not mind having a cup of thick black coffee from local coffeeshops if I have no other choice. Agree! The worst coffee I have tasted are from McDonalds and KFC. They don't taste like coffee at all - extremely diluted and tasteless.
-
Different people have different tastes - some love those coffee from neighbourhood coffee shops - thick and black. Some like having a cuppa at coffees clubs while chit chatting with friends. I find the coffee at coffee shops tasteless - they are just bitter because of being over burnt. Some of the coffee outlets in town (Orchard Rd, etc) have good and fragrant coffee but with all the distractions and other preoccupations I had no time to really enjoy them or even know exactly what they taste like. The best coffee which I enjoy most is in the comfort of my HOME!!!!! I also use to buy back kilos of freshly roasted coffee beans from Australia. Blue Mountain was only $20+ per kilo - here in S'pore it's about $10 per 100grams. I stored the coffee bean in my freezer to keep them fresh and fragrant. The coffee aroma and it's lingering after taste in the mouth is simply fantastic. Now I make do with the ground coffee from St Michaels. I always enjoy my best coffee - AT HOME.

Casino or no casino people are already gambling - 4D, TOTO, Chap Ji Ki, Football, Horse Racing, etc................. There are lots of illegal and underground gambling syndicates, and gambling dens "cheating" money from the poor uncles, aunties, old men, and youngster. They work in cahoots with loan sharks who are ever ready and lurking like "sharks" to deepen the misery of these poor people. Singaporeans are already going to casinos in neighbouring countries. Many going further to Australia to gamble big. In other words Singapore has been losing out in terms of revenue ($$$$$$$$$$) to other countries. There is a saying: "If you cannot beat them follow them". Since we know that many Singaporeans are spending lots of money in casinos abroad why not get them and people from other countries to spend $$$$$$$$$$$ here in our own country, so that we collect the gambling revenue and taxes? Many others businesses will also benefit from it and more jobs will be created. Who would go to casinos and pay an entrance fee of $$$ to gamble? Most likely, the same people who have been frequenting those casinos in neighbouring countries. So better to attract more people to spend $$$$$$ in Singapore. Good for our economy. It will be status quo for most Singaporeans. Most of them will still live with some hope of getting rich quick or some extra money by playing 4D, TOTO, Big Sweep, etc…….. legal or illegal. Without “hope” life becomes meaningless. and bleak, especially for those in the lower social economy group. "Once a gambler, always a gambler". Those usual big time gamblers will still be the same no matter where they are. Whether having casinos in Singapore will create more gamblers and result in more social ills is a concern, and rightly so because we do not want our Country to degenerate into an “unsafe place”. One very important question is : Will our Government want to do anything that will jeopardise their own credibility and future standing? My 2 cents.

I tried to copy those from other countries. But, you know what? I ended up feeling so stupid that I reminded myself never to do it again - that this is S'pore not Australia, America,........... The fact that we still need Courtesy Campaigns, Small Kindness Movements, Fathers' Day, Mothers' Day, Teachers' Day (maybe next time, Uncles' and Aunty's Day, Grangfathers' and Grandmothers' Day, etc......) is a clear indication that something is amiss. Those are reminders that we had been forgetting to show our love and respect for them....... and now they drum it into you and make you do it. Now these have become very good money making opportunities for entreprenuers and business people. This is typically Singapore - Good & Not Good!!!
-
Undoubtedly, S'pore is a very safe place compared to many other cities/countries. At the same time, there are also lots of other good things and practices that we can learn from other countries - like friendliness, honesty, courtesy, sincerity.......... and lots of others. Those who travel often would know that in many other respects S'poreans has still a lot to catch up with. Anyway, no one can be perfect. So, be happy with what we are and what we have and try our best to practise those good deeds and actions that we learn from the people of other countries. Hopefully, we may be able to make S'pore a better place to live in and call our Home.
-
The fact remains that the size of S'pore will never be much bigger, so there is no way it's going to be like USA. Yes, the crime rate is "crawling up the scale", but it's inevitable as life and people becomes more complex. In Percentage terms it should be much higher in Singapore because of our small population. The case of the "odd job labour who was stabbed while he was chatting with his wife and toddler,in the open eyes of many other peoples around". is an isolated one and we don't really know the motive or cause of the killing - definitely not for nothing. I understand that many many years back when gangsters were "kings" in S'pore -there were very frequent and rampant "gang fights and killings" and lot's of unrests. Now such things are almost unheard of. I personally feel that S'pore is still a very safe place provide, of course, that we don't take our safety and security for granted and let our guards down. When I went to USA I had to remind myself of a list of "don't". Going to some other neighbouring countries I have to wary of many things and be extra alert because anything unexpected can happen anytime and anywhere. In Singapore I feel very safe as long as I am not careless enough to allow myself to be a "victim" of any potential criminal. Once I saw a lady tourist sitting by the side of a shopping mall along Orchard Road relaxing herself with her hand bag placed infront of her,. In other countries that would be the silliest thing to do because her handbag could have been snatched away right under her very own eyes.

Alamak!!!! Look at the pic more carefully. I'll give her 4/10 only no more , maybe less. I'm sure many of your wives and gf look much better. Besides, there must have been alot of "make overs" on her. Wait till you see the real person........ maybe even scarier that those you don't wish to see during this 7th month. I'm not too sure whether that is a guy or gal!!!!! Difficult to tell nowadays.

As a feeding tool for your corals you can use it over and over again. They have slightly bigger ones too.
-
I use 3cc shringe that people use for injection (minus the needle, which are sold separately), and after use they are normally discarded because they are for "single use only". It's very cheap.
-
I cannot remember exactly how much, but it's very cheap, even from Guardian Pharmacy - 50 cents each, maybe less.
-
Ya, I got my idea from the old treasure thread which attached a rubber tubing to a rod or stick and modified it to make it simpler.
-
Fix the attachment - shringe affixed to the plastic tube. Place the end of the plastic tube into the "food" and pull the plunger of the shringe upwards. By doing so the "food" would be sucked into the tube. Then direct the plastic to whichever inveterbrate (target) and then push (press) the plunger of the shringe down. If you want a spray on the "targets", press hard and fast. Press slowly and controlled if you want to aim at any particular "target". I switch to the stainless rod or twisted wire inserted into the tube to feed my anemones with prawn or fish meat. So, it's 2 in 1. A very useful tool, but can still be improved.

hungry Ghost season now~care to share any errie
cyclop replied to andysho's topic in General Reefkeeping_
Now it's past the middle of the Hungry Ghost season. Anyone seen or experienced anything interesting lately???? -
Have you got the shringe? Pharmacies should have them, and in different sizes. Choose one that can be inserted into the plastic tubing. Some LFSs have it too but the larger ones. Happy feeding.
