  1. Haha vicious circle...... Very vicious $$$ spiral indeed.
  2. saddle will eat buttons and colonial corals/anemones.
  3. The chemipure that is, not the water chg haha
  4. Still must chg water lah. Mthly chgs are inevitable lah. But I think chemipure is a pretty gd product. Been using it for abt a mth now and so far so gd. Crystal clear water without the yellowish thinge and no need to replace as often as carbon. Think shd be able to last abt 6 mths
  5. Thks all for teh help. I hv enough of chiller blowing hot air & making noise in my living rm. Thats why switched to fans. Dont laugh but i use those bgt from electrical shops cost only $25 hahha. Did the work well but now the fans getting rusty and noisy tat swhy thght of using those specially made for aquarist ones.
  6. Errrrr ... u serious abt keeping this?
  7. reborn used to hv when they were at paya lebar & tampines fish farm rd. But hnt seen any since they started at the new place. Mermaids purses are pretty cute to look at. But keeping shark is a different proposition altogether in term sof tank size.
  8. Hmm my plate coral moved a little from time to time as well.
  9. wats that black stuff in teh centre? Macroalgae or feather star or ?
  10. Hiihi all Instead of throwing brickbats at bad experiences at lfs. How abt we do the gracious thing and throw "garlands" at the good lfs that hv provided us with gd experiences. I like to say Henry at ML hobb... is one of the friendliest & most helpful lfs owners i ever met. he is helpful & provides gd advice even on stuff that he doesnt sell at the moment. I m sure there are others who will share my view.
  11. Yeah man first time i hearing also abt buying fishes in odd numbers. Pl enlighten me.
  12. Err on the side of caution I would say when it comes to my livestocks
  13. Well maybe its still stressed. Assuming that the water parameters are gd, maybe you can tempt it with some live mysis or brine shrimps?
  14. Go for longnose. Easier to feed.
  15. Fishes may be able to survive the low salinity but the inverts will be gonzo espcialy the corals. Ich & white spots pathogens are present in all aquarium. Its when the fishes are stressed that they will attack successfully - like yr flu. So the best is to make sure minimise stress.= no fighting, no sudden temp chg, maintain gd water parameters etc etc....
  16. Also safer not to mix same species of triggers, same species of angels & same species of tangs together. Unless they are of totally different size or coloartion & patterns. They may appear ok when very sml together but its one big WWF waiting to happen.
  17. My butterflies & pocupine get popeye whenever my water parameter worsen. Usually do a 20-30 % water chg and the chaps will recover in few days.
  18. My long spine urchins feed on these & other algaes. Too bad they dont do cyanos ...........
  19. bristle worm lah.. shdnt be prob . When yr tank is fully cycled & u want to get rid of it, u can always add a 6 band wrasse or hog fish. My tank is depleted of bristle worms by my 6 band wrasse.
  20. Just be careful as butterflies generally rvery sensitive n dont take too kindly to stress. Be on the lookout for white spots or ich.
  21. If u want tough n looks , go for the moon wrasse. Monster...... but very beautiful colours & super tough...
  22. sponges dont need calcium. But definitely increase yr pH. Chk this link for some products available. http://www.drsfostersmith.com/product/sc_v...d=6&pCatId=8067
  23. Saw 2 midsized ones at reborn last week but probbly gone by now. Try not to buy too big ones as they really can knock down yr live rocks
  24. No woris leathers r tough chaps. Just gv em strong current & gd lighting n they'll thrive. My even got badly mauled by my clown trigger once but now has fully recovered and growing very well. My trigger also leaves it alone now= probably tasted very yucky
