  1. i hv a ts24= 2 x tunze 6100 in 3 ft cube... just need to adjust angles of deflection tahts all...otherwise hv sand dunes formed hahaha
  2. dont think its big prob for fishes... but too strong current may cos prob for corals if blown directly at them... deflected current is ok generally
  3. lights wud be the next impt i think u shd consider... consider what u intend to keep, yr electrical bill budget (may hv to include chiller bill if u need mh)

  5. sori guys all fishes collected this morning... anemone has been released back to pasir ris mangrove where i originally collected them... cudnt wait as the old tank condition deteriorated very quickly cos equipment was transferred to the new tank... thousand apologies for any inconvenience

    hihi jun ... i m also planning a refugium n i m gonna use those philllips energy saving bulbs.. so shdnt be too costly

    i m oso setting up a refugium n is planning to use one of thsoe phillips energy saving light... shdnt be too heavy on the electrical bill especially if its set on reverse timing to the main tank's lights
  9. tahst a bluefin damsel... very active n easy to keep fish... when it grows up it becomes totally black... i hv one in tank tahts been with me for some time...

  11. yes Jervis... i got a brand new 1/4 hp last week n u hv to calibrate the chiller temp ... other than that no prob...
  12. Hihi I hv a few livestks to gv away FAST... (1) 1 blackish colour tomato clown (2 inch plus)- oldest inhabitant in my tank (abt 7 yrs with me already) ... (easy for newbie even) (2) 1 target fish (2 inch) - easiest fish to keep ... caught it during low tide when it was abt 1 cm (easy for newbie even) (3) 2 common clowns (paired) living with a luminueous green/ bright yellow carpet anemone (1 ft diameter) (need at least T5 lights n occasional feeding) (4) green carpet anemone (sml size abt 3 inch ) (5) 1 common hermit crab (medium size) (easy for newbie even) Except for clowns, rest all collected ard local waters and hv been stabilised n kept in my tank for at least 3 yrs Reasons why gvg away - decom old 5 ft lps n fish tank cos started new 3 ft cube keeping mostly lps n maybe sps If no suitable homes found, will release them back to sea. Collection Siglap area East coast, bring your own water n pail.

  17. on my mnual for artica 1/4 hp , flowrate stated 30 litres- 121litre per min.. that works out to be 1800 - 7260 per hr... so i think for the 1/3 hp wont be surprised if can handle up to 9000 litres per hr but best u double chk the manual

  20. artica is oso a gd brand.. i hv just bgt my n m very pleasantly surprised tat it runs so silently compared to my previous italian brand one...

  25. stopped for a period of abt 3-4yrs when shifted house and my kids were learning to walk n pulling n tugging at everything available...
