I'm planning to upgrade my current tank. i have a several tank size in mind: L x W x H (all in feet) 2 x 2 x 1.5 OR 2 x 1.5 x 1.5 OR 2.5 x 1.5 x 1.5 which one look nicer in real ? + it'd have a wooden cabinet with a 2 x 1 x 1 sump tank underneath it. due to budget n monthly maintaining cost, the light fittings the most i can afford is 2 x 55W PL or lower than that. that's why the light also limit my tank size. I'm planning to hv some LPS / shrooms / buttons in my tank. please advise.. thanks

the K, kelvin is the color temperature ... 6.5k is almost the full color spectrum (like sunglight, kinda yellowish), the higher it goes, the bluer the bulb is. 10kk is considered very white light + a bit blueish, yet 15k,20k is blueish. i believe corals do best in 6.5k, but for viewing purpose, many ppl choose to go for higher K, as it looks brighter and clearer. and of course, blue can bring out the flouroscent of the corals as well -
what bout snails ? are they good at removing hair algae?
-
ya .. if u dun prune the caulerpa will grow all over the places... corals etc.. but if prune, then it'll release back the nutrients ... so i'm still thinking a way to limit it's growth on a piece of LR only.. if no then hv no choice hv to buang all the caulerpa :\

OK i have a few questions here.... Currently i have a 2ft about 7-month year old tank .. Corals i'm having now is gonipora, mushrooms and buttons. 1) Do i need to feed them on zooplankton ? If needed, what i saw in the market currently have a few types.. one is liquid another is powder form .. which one i should go for ? what's the difference? anything i have to take note before purchasing the zooplankton ? it cost about $20 per bottle... 2) i feed my fish on prawn meat everyday once.. sometimes i squeeze the prawn into almost mashed form.. wondering will this be one of the food source for those corals ? in this case, do i still need zooplankton ? 3) the fries of the cleaner shrimps, is it a source of food for those corals i mentioned above too ? 4) my buttons are not opening for 2 days !! i wondering what happened... water para: ammonia unknown (no test kits), NO2 <0.1 , NO3 5-10 ppm ... and i found that there's quite a number of "snail like" thingy crawling over the tank.. i suspect is they discard the button shell and come out ? it looks like a nudibranch.. thanks for ur advice !

ppl said sea lectuce is great in removing no3 + it doesnt go transexual , therefore wont release any toxins back . i so regret that i let some grape caulerpa grows on the LR.. and now it's covering my tank !! and i have bad times in removing them

my simple 2ft folwr consists of 1) False percula x 1 2) Bicolor blenny x 1 3) Bicolor psuedochromis x 1 4) Cleaner Shrimps x 2 5) Electrical blue leg hermit x 1 Looks dull ? try to add some red sea lectuce or red sea-grape. they are good at absorbing nitrates too but i have problem with my psuedochromis .. occasionally will chase my shrimps .. gonna take him out soon btw how many fish u guys keep in a standard 2ft tank ar ?
