will BT peck on buttons ? is it becos too hungry ? or there's brown tissue on the buttons ?

wondering if i can get mysis from C328 , or Farmart .. cos i only know how to get to those 2 places... i aint local, from jb in jb we can only find brine shrimp.. sigh~

how to differentiate mysis and brine shrimp?? as far as i know, brine shrimp is not favourable for marine livestock rite ?

any idea which LFS carrying mysis shrimp ?? C328 ? or the LFS in Hong Leong garden ? and what's the price-like ? thanks

they are corals, polyp buttons coral. some ppl call it buttons as well.

yes i believe aquaz is T5HO.. i just moved them to shaded area... hopefully this will help them to recover soon

my lighting 4 x t5 aquaz tube , 2 x blue , 2 x 20,000k tank dim. 2.5 x 1.5 x 1.5ft , about 50gal. 1) my orange yuma keep spitting out brown thingy .. and not looking well tho. what's the brown substance ? how to take care of it ? the placement is at the bottom of the tank, on the sandbed... 2) i bought a few pieces of green mushrooms, and when i bring it out , it's somehow bleached, not totally but partially.... what shall i do to let them regain the color ? the placement of the shroom also bottom of the tank. thanks

I found 2 strange things. .. 1) The antenna of the cleaner shrimp has some brown thingy grown on them.. looks like brown algae growing on the antenna ... why? 2) the false percula has black spots on its fin and body ... why ?

what's this coral ? is there any relevant info on this kinda coral ? hard to keep ?

my light is 4 x 24W t5ho , 2 x 20,000k + 2 x actinic blue photoperiod is 4-6 hours (bcos i hvt get any timer) and yes, the shrooms appear to be flouroscent green . is it bcos of the actinic blue ? or bcos it's receiving not enough of light per day ?

ya i know the white slimy stuff is not pods .. my camera unable to capture the pods pic , but from eyes, u'll see alot of moving white creatures around the shroom and i believe is pods. btw the white slimy stuff is zooxanthellae that released by the shroom due to stress.

ok sorry for my ignorance .. but i thought after mixing the KW with freshwater, it shouldnt stay longer than a day or 2 ? as it will lose its efficiency ? ie the concentration is not that high anymore.. i think is the CA+ ions .. not very sure bout the chemi thingy but i heard/read from somewhere.. it should be freshly mixed and drip

i also found on my LR ... but they are in brown color ! but at the same time i also found a couple of AIPTASIA ! any idea how to get rid of them ? using barehand or ?

well i have one colony of normal mushrooms about 10++ pieces ...but recently i found that a few pieces is shrinking and releasing the zooxanthellae... and turned brown instead of green. i noticed that there's alot of pods (or maybe is other worms , too small to identify... very very small white thing ..) surronded it ... is it bcos of the "pods" kill them ? or is it bcos the mushroom is dying and the "pods" is eating the flesh ? is it a norm that the pods are crawling over a healthy mushroom ?? or they will only crawl on it when it's not healthy ? or they are infected by other worms ?? shall i take them out ?? ! help !!! all the parameters are ok, except for the photoperiod.. it's been 5-6 hours per day for almost 2 weeks..

haha i dun wanna take any risk ler.. hate respacing and disturbing those corals.. i know it's very hard to catch him back once throw into the tank hehe anyway i think i'll put it into the sump la . black black with alot of LR .. sure will be his fav. place haha

mine using just one AC fan, able to maintain my tank temp at about 27-29. depends on weather. i'm using 4 x t5HO over a 2.5 x 1.5 x 1.5 tank. just for ur reference.

does it attack inverts like shrimps ? i have glass shrimps and cleaner shrimps at the moment.

ok i'v come across a few articles on splitting mushrooms.. 1) cut off from the base 2) cut like pizza , like what other bro mentioned here. but please bear in mind, each splitted mushrooms must comes with the "mouth" , or else 99% will melt away. ie, when u cut the mushroom into half, also include half of the mouth. if 4 , then u hv to cut the mouth into 4 pieces as well. in short, each pieces should have a mouth. 3) use protective net/fish net to cover your mushrooms on a LR. this is to prvent other fish/inverts disturb them. 4) just sit down and relax and watch them grow for me i prefer let them split naturally .. hehe but my green mushrooms only splited once.. hehe

well i'd say most of my corals will be muhsrooms, yuma, ric and a few species of other LPS like hammer, maybe prata, button etc... so i hope my lighting can cover all the needs of the LPS. ------------------- if you are talking bout the color, if the 10kk tube is yellowish , we still can balance it out using actinics blue rite ? so in this case, 10kk x 2 + actinics x 2 should look nice, isnt it ? yet 20kk is for deep sea corals, and i believe non of my corals are from that region .. haha
