first u need to know whether ur cycle has been kicked off or not?
if so , u'll have ammonia spike, No2 spike and No3 spike during different stages of cycling.
when the time u get ammonia,no2,no3 = 0 , this considered ur cycling has completed.
i'd like to have my tank water to have a full range test, like NO2,NO3, Ca,Mg,Kh ,pH etc..
any idea which LFS provide such services? and how much ?
thanks
i think that will really depends on what brand of bulbs u r using.
different bulbs different lifespan.
like ATI T5 , can be more than one year, but some other brands (china) perhaps just 6 months.
same goes for MH
cant decide on MH or T5 ? well they have their own pros n cons. u have to weight them urself
this is a type of caulerpa ..
i experienced that in my tank, and caused me to throw away the all the LR
they are a real nuisance. dun try to plug them, or else they will be spreading all over ur tank .
anyway bring down ur no3 n po4.
i found that my weipro2012 is not producing dense and fine enuough bubble.
I'm using rio14hf (3500l/h) to power my weipro2012.
I'm wondering if there's anything i can do to fine tune the weipro ?
a few things i can think of...
1) to increase air intake , ie to install more air tube on the skimmer ? will that help?
2) to put something in between the water & air intake so that the thing can cut the bubbles into finer bubble ? such as coarse sponge ?
or any idea ? thanks
hehe hammy how long u'v been using it?
i heard that one problem of swing arm is it will get less accurate as time goes. as the arm can be easily clogged and cant get the accurate readings...
As above. as my budget concerns, i will not go for refractormeter.
so only 2 choices, swing-arm type or floating ? which 1 gives more accuracy ? and any preferred brannds ? like azoo ? sera ? ai.m ?
thanks
i'd say different LFS serves different needs..
i believe ML is more on gobies / nano fish / shrimps and also SOFTIES !!! haha which i second with blueheaven , also my fav lfs
pasir ris there's alot of corals/fish farms.. quite a few.
ohhh i see, meaning that remove the bottleneck ? where there's a place it bcome a very small hole , somehow like a "V" shape rite?
but if this case, how can i get the air ?
what r the modification u made to ur weipro ? i have one weipro 2012 , but seems like the foam produced is not up to my satisfaction ... any advise on enhancement ?
also, any recommended pumps for 2012 ? which is not high price ? budget about 50-100 SGD. thanks
some LPS like pratas, plate will prefer to hv sandy substrate..
anyway, imo , if 1 inch sandbed compared to bb, i'll go for bb
for me, either DSB or bb
i have a Sera floating type hydrometer.
The bottom part is broken and alot of small small black balls come out ... ermm i'v tried to siphon out 90% of the black balls out... wondering the remaining one will leak any toxic to the tank ?
what are those black balls ? are they lead balls?
also, today i noticed that there's a significant grwoth of the algae on the glass and LR, green ones. is it caused by the balls ?
my tank still under cycling stage. 5th day.
i just turn on 2 x actinic blue only. yesterday the tank still very clear of algae. this evening, the algae all grow almost 60% of the glass and some on the LR ....
pls advise.thanks
